الوصف الوظيفي
• Prepare, collect, and digitize the geographic and geological data from different sources (data collection).
• Organize, edit, check, and build GIS data for a variety of projects for E&A (data processing).
• Prepare, and enter the data to GIS database with maintaining the GIS database and troubleshooting data issues.
• Create digital or hardcopy maps to support E&A daily activities and tasks, and ensuring maps are annotated and compiled with the correct information.
• Follow QA and QC processes, and perform routine data management, validation, and correction to ensure GIS data is accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
• Perform basic data analysis & spatial queries and undertake data analyses & data conversion using Arc Toolbox and Geoprocessing tools.
• Complete of assigned GIS tasks under the supervision of the E&A director.
• Assists the department in the development or creation of special projects or assignments.
• Dealing with raster data and geological imageries using georeferencing, mosaic, and image processing functions.
• Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues and CCED’s data.
• Periodically documentation of GIS database for E&A business unit.
المهارات المطلوبة
• Degree(s): A degree (BA or BSc) in Geoscience, Geography, Surveying, Engineering. Geoscience background is preferred is preferred.
• Years of Industry Experience: Entry level position from university
• Expatriate/Omani: Omani
• Permanent/Part Time: Permanent
• Language Skills Requirements: Proficiency in written and spoken of English.
• Professional Skills: Stable, mature, organized, and able to handle multiple projects effectively. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidate must be a self-starter that has a positive and “can-do” attitude.
• Technical skills: Knowledge of modern cartographic standards and principles. Experience with mapping tools and data analyzing and visualization methods.
• IT Skills & Expertise Requirements: Very strong computer skills, including building and maintaining spreadsheets, development, and interrogation of databases. Data management, including accessing, cataloging, and archiving diverse data types.
