الوصف الوظيفي

Accountabilities:
Development Geologist with experience in generating and executing field development plans, develop appraisal strategies, update reservoir models and conduct reservoir studies. The incumbent will supervise and conduct geological and geophysical subsurface related activities including the building of subsurface geological models for QAMP oil and gas fields. Undertakes geological studies of the reservoirs to optimize field development plans. Reviews/interprets sub-surface data and proposes drillable infill and appraisal locations. Participates in well and reservoir management studies. The incumbent will mentor and coach less experienced Omani staff.

Job activities:
  1. Builds new static reservoir modes and maintains reservoir models and incorporate relevant latest data of other disciplines in order to maximise HC recovery by delivering quality input to field development activities, appraisal plans and business plans.
  2. Identifies opportunities for maximising HC recoveries by evaluating well results and contributing to well planning, formation evaluation and WRM plans / activities during all stages of the field life-cycle, from appraisal strategy planning through early and mature field (re)development, to field or segment scale and well and reservoir optimisation.
  3. Identifies and proposes reservoir appraisal and re-development opportunities that are based on a range of subsurface realisations.
  4. Carries reservoir geological characterization and modeling studies to high technical standards and incorporate relevant information of other disciplines.
  5. Defines integrated (re)development opportunities and assess reserves potential.
  6. Maintains evergreen static models of oil and gas reservoirs with latest formation evaluation, seismic and production data.
  7. Responsible for STOIIP and GIIP volumetric calculations and provide geological input into reserves determinations compliant with the companies agreed HC resources classification system.
  8. Identifies areas where the acquisition of additional reservoir (geology) data would reduce uncertainties; support or design / contribute to appropriate reservoir geology data acquisition programs.
  9. Manage the geological data of the fields according to company standards.
  10. Team member of a multi-disciplinary team. Participate in discipline activities in order to enhance sustainable geosciences capabilities.
  11. Plans, supervises the acquisition of and analyzes/interprets geological, geophysical and petrophysical data for/from new appraisal, development and infill wells.
  12. Experience in geo-steering/placement of horizontal and highly deviated wells in carbonate/clastic reservoirs.
  13. Initiates, QC and co-ordinate in-house/out-sourced specialized geological and reservoir characterization studies.
  14. Establishes workflows and participates in geophysical, geological and petrophysical study and operational peer reviews related to well and reservoir field management.
  15. Plans, identifies and recommends new drilling locations and subsurface targets for producers/injectors/observers to optimize field development.
  16. Prepares well proposals/prognosis for new wells and follow up on drilling operations and update the geological models based on well results.
  17. Participates in Annual Reserves Review
  18. Coordinates management of Mud Logging, well site geology LWD, Wireline and other contracts.
  19. QA/QC geological data and maintain geological databases including real time data links.
  20. Develops and prepares post-drill geological reports including compilation of formation logs.
  21. Annual Budget Planning: Participate and contribute to annual budget process.
  22. Provides coaching/mentoring to young Omani staff.
