الوصف الوظيفي

The Emergency Response Technician (ERT) is responsible for carrying out routine Emergency Response Team (fire department) operational duties and fire and emergency response activities at the Mukhaizna Airport, Camps, Central Processing Facility (CPF) and other locations within the Oxy Oman Block 53 Concession as directed by the Fire Chief and/or Emergency Response Officer.
 
The Emergency Response Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Performing firefighting and rescue duties during aircraft emergencies, structural fires and industrial process fires.
  • Driving and operating specialized firefighting vehicles.
  • Performing daily and periodic inspections and general maintenance of firefighting vehicles, firefighting rescue tools and equipment and personal protective clothing.
  • Keeping fire station facilities, equipment and operational areas clean, organized and safe. 
  • Performing advanced interior and exterior Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting operations.
  • Performing vehicle rescue and extrication activities.
  • Performing hazardous materials incident response and mitigation.
  • Performing advanced technical rope and confined space rescue operations.
  • Performing special hazard stand-by when required.
  • Providing emergency First Aid and CPR at the First Responder Level.
  • Using specialized respiratory protection equipment (Self-Contained and Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus)
  • Regularly participating in recurring Crew Proficiency Training (CPT) sessions and emergency response drills and exercises.
  • Participating in the daily firefighter physical fitness program and the annual firefighter physically fitness testing
  • Conducting routine fire prevention and safety inspections.
  • Conducting routine fire extinguisher inspections and performs inspection and operational testing of fire hydrants, fire hose stations and fixed monitors.
  • Conducting visual inspections of fire alarm systems, water-based suppression systems and special agent extinguishing systems.
  • Conducting fire extinguisher and fire safety training for OXY employees and contractors.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief and/Emergency Response Officer.

  • College Diploma in Fire and Safety.     
  • Cumulative GPA of 2 or above, priority will be given to the highest GPA in the selection process.
  • Must be a fresh graduate job seeker or working in none permanent position.

  • Must have not held any permanent jobs before.

  • Must be an Omani national.

  • Aviation and industrial firefighting certificates and CPR & Basic First-Aid training are preferred.
  • Basic mechanical skills and capable of handling and operating specialized firefighting tools and equipment    
  • Possession of Omani Driver’s License, Preferably with heavy driving license for fire truck operation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good PC skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to timely and accurately complete assigned tasks.
  • Must be physically fit. Candidates must pass a Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and medical screening as a condition of the selection process.  
Must be graduated on the date of application.
