Provide GIS and geo-information services facilitating maximum leverage of the value of PDO's geo-information. Services include desktop and server side GIS delivery, digital and paper maps, user support and to extent/expand and customise GIS application delivery. In addition, the position is the PDO focal point for project management of the ESRI suite of applications.

Postgraduate degree (MSc) in Geodesy, Surveying Sciences or Geographical Information Systems (GIS) with at least 15 years relevant experience half of which must have been in the E&P industry.
The job requires a fully qualified Geodetic Surveyor with MSc in Geodesy, Surveying or GIS.
Academic training in GIS, data management, cartography and mapping techniques.
Experience with state of the art GIS and digital mapping techniques and applications is a prerequisite.
Experience with implementation and development of GIS applications and tools (especially ArcGIS, ArcSDE server services and Portal for ArcGIS).
Experienced with programming techniques like .net, python, HTML5, JavaScript and model builder.
Experienced in testing of deployments scripts
Experience in advising (sub)surface data work flows with a sound understanding of its implications for geodetic integrity, applications and databases.
Experience with implementation and compliance monitoring
Extensive experience in the design and maintenance of relational and spatial databases, full competent with Oracle and ArcSDE.
Very experienced in the creation and maintenance of ArcGIS server services and the use of API's.
Competent with recent IT and IM developments and working within a managed software environment.
A wide ranging and in depth knowledge of practical land surveying techniques, database management (spatial data management in particular), GIS applications and a wide range of computer techniques, including technologies like Linux, Oracle, FME, PC/Windows, SQL, GIS scripting language and Web publishing skills are essential.
The incumbent must be capable of developing a strategic vision, where assigned, to steer spatial data management/Mapping & Analysis/Project activities within the team
Skilled with the concepts of spatialisation and administering spatialisation scripts in PL/SQL and FME.
Excellent inter-personal and communication abilities are a pre-requisite, as is the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and to market the new technologies among the various Business Areas.
Ensure HSE compliance with responsibilities and accountabilities summarised in the HSE Policy, Commitment and Accountabilities. Adhere to the requirements of the HSE management System as specified in the Exploration HSE Management Procedure.
