The remit of the Senior Asset Petrophysicist is to work in an integrated team of subsurface and surface staff delivering new development wells, well and reservoir surveillance planning and execution, and contributing to field development studies. Providing technical assurance and coaching to junior staff is a key element of this position.
• Development Planning
- Work in an integrated team of geoscientists and petroleum / production engineers to deliver robust studies to define future field development opportunities and reserves potential.
- Generate and or update a robust petrophysical model for input into the IRM workflow.
- Implement development activities sanctioned by Field Development Plans (FDP’s) / Studies.
- Participate in the review of reservoir and well performance / development against plan.
- Assure fit-for-purpose data acquisition using Competitive Scoping
- Evaluate the use of new technology as part of future FDPs.
• New Oil
- Contribute to and provide assurance of Well Proposals
- Provide support to Rig Operations
- Evaluate and Manage Data
- Manage the interface with the data gathering contractors
• Well and Reservoir Management
- Own, execute, and track reservoir management and surveillance plans and activities under the umbrella of the Field Development & Management Strategy, aimed at full life-cycle field development, reservoir management and scope maturation.
- Ensure proper use and management of the data.
- Ensure cost-effective logging programs and utilisation of team resources, clearly defined objectives, minimise scope change and look for innovative ways of minimising costs without compromising objectives and while maximizing value.
- Evaluate cased-hole data for well performance optimization, well integrity, and reservoir performance.
- Provide operational support for surveillance operations.
- Participate in the review of reservoir and well performance / development against plan.
- Work with surveillance engineers and geoscientists to identify & quantify opportunities for maximising production from developed and undeveloped reserves.
