• Review project electrical system designsanddevelopmaintenance tasks to ensure manufacturing,construction,installationand operational testing conforms tospecifications,codes, and standards
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) offailedelectricalequipment, systems and audit compliance to companystandards& codesfor the Daleel Project
• Provide consultation and technical supports toothers,assistin training/coaching of electrical personnel in repairsandpreventive maintenance
• Define interface problems with other disciplinesduringdesignand construction phase in advance and implement sound andcosteffectivesolution without affecting construction progress.
• Review and approve the design developedbyengineeringcontractor/consultant such as system configuration,systemselectionstudies, calculations, electrical datasheets,specificationsand the requisitions.
• To review all electrical design and vendor documentstoensureproposed design is fit for purpose
• Participate and provide inputs to detaildesignmeetings,SAFOP studies and HAZOP on electrical projects.
• As required, generates specific tender documentsandworkscopes, and evaluates specific tenders to support andexpeditetheEngineering completion.
• Manage project activities within budget andschedule,whilemaintaining technical integrity
• Identify and report operating variances outsidethedesignlimits and Technical Integrity problem.
• Understand the hazards associated with the taskinvolvedandimplement controls in consultation with supervisors
• Responsible for managing and executingtheelectricalconstruction works. Construction supervision andelectricalengineeringexecution including gathering stations,building,well sitesconstruction etc.
• Monitor of schedule and execution of electrical construction activities
• Ensure the technical integrity of Construction scope ofwork.
• Ensure overall Quality Assurance of Construction scopeofworkand coordinate with the QA/QC engineers.
• Implement Company HSE requirements and coordinatewiththeCompany HSE Team.
• Ensure all materials used by the contractors areinaccordancewith the specifications.
• Ensure that construction work is carried outinaccordancewith the Specifications and that any deviations areapprovedby theappropriate authorities (Engineering SiteManager, ProjectEngineerand/or QA/QC Engineers).
• Ensure that the Engineering Site Manager iskeptfullyinformed at all times of progress, versus theContractor'sschedule, andgiven advance notice of anysignificantissues requiring resolution.
• Ensure that Operations personnel are kept fullyinformedatall times and that appropriate Operations input is obtained,duringtheimplementation of the work.
• Participate in regular HSE audits and inspections,bothad-hocand formal, of the contractors’ facilities andoperationsto ensurethat HSE standards are maintained and ensurethat actionitems arepromptly followed up by the contractors.
• Participate in regular Quality audits andinspections,bothad-hoc and formal, of the contractors’ facilitiesandoperationsto ensure that Quality standards aremaintainedand ensure thataction items are promptly followed up bythe contractors.
• Issue Unsafe Act Reports as and when required andensurethatthese are promptly followed up and closed out by the contractors.
• Liaise with the project Engineer on technical issuesasandwhen required.
• Liaise with the other discipline Construction Engineersonacontinuous basis to ensure smooth execution oftheconstructionactivities and management of construction interfaces.
• Ensure that all construction and precommissioningactivitiesare documented to provide a smooth handover tothe SiteCommissioningTeam and or Operation team.
• Liaise closely with the Site Commissioning Team toensurethatany Construction rectification required duringthepre-commissioning andcommissioning phases is promptly implemented.
• Monitor as-built drawing preparation by thecontractorstoensure that these are accurate and produced on time.
• Supervise the interdisciplinary interface related to own discipline.
• Support operations team in managing theconstructionefforttowards an efficient systems handover for commissioning.
• Completing corrections identified during commissioning and start-up.
• Support the project engineers in thepreparation/reviewofconstruction scope & plans
• Monitoring of construction costs and schedule progress
• Support the discipline engineers inensuringtheconstructability of designs if required.
• Understand the hazards associated with the taskinvolvedandimplement controls in consultation with supervisors
• Attend Tool Box Talks and ensure that hazardcontrolsareclearly understood. If not clarify with supervisor
• Ensure that tools & equipment are checked priortousageand ensured that they are safe
• Understand the hazards associated with the taskinvolvedandimplement controls in consultation with supervisors
• Ensure that company HSE Policies and Procedures are followed
• Ensure that safety is maintained in work places
• Participate in all HSE Programs as and when called for
المهارات المطلوبة
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
• BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering
Minimum Work experience:
• At Least 5 years of total experience with 2 years’ experience in plant electrical design, construction and maintenance practices, with a broad background in oil and gas.
• Good knowledge in electrical generation, distribution, transmission, motor controls, protection systems and safety of LV & HV apparatus.
• Sound command of both written and spoken English and good communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of International Standards and other applicable codes relating to electrical engineering, power distribution, and high & low voltage systems
• Procurement and contractual knowledge
• Knowledge of Oman materials and equipment suppliers would be highly regarded
