The successful candidate is responsible for independently performing a wide variety of skilled tasks including operation, routine maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, planning, modification, installation and calibration of instrumentation, SCADA control and electrical systems for the production wells, custody  transfer  stations, power system, and telecommunication units in Off-Plot facilities; oversee and train staff in the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic instrumentation equipment including programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, remote terminal units, supervisory control data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and software controlled units and equipment.

The Senior E&I Technician will mentor, coach and train less-experienced technicians to develop their knowledge and competencies and serve as a technical resource to others.

Role, Responsibility & Accountability

• Apply the Company’s HSE policies and procedures, approved standards and best practices to ensure the reliability and integrity of instruments and instrumentation systems.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all instrumentation and control systems, metering equipment and analyzers. (These include, but are not limited to DCS, ESD, SCADA, process control valves and auxiliary equipment, local PLCs, Local Control Panels, flow, temperature, level and pressure installations, analyzers, gas, and liquid sample conditioning techniques and custody transfer meters).
• Responsible for the routine calibrations and testing of all field instrumentation, metering equipment, and analyzers, including but is not limited to: Process measurement checks and calibrations, Custody Transfer Meter calibrations, Analyzer calibrations, Plant and Portable Gas Detectors, Safety and Emergency Systems (ESD), F&G Systems, Alarm Checks and Summaries
• Responsible for fault diagnostics and repairs of the site instrumentation systems in a safe manner in line with the company procedures and practices.
• Participate in the preparation of the annual/ monthly PM KPIs and reports.
• Operate programmers, calibrators, measuring, and testing devices, hand tools, and equipment of the trade. Calibrate, align, and test a variety of systems designed to monitor Off-Plot Assets.
• Oversee maintenance activities carried out by technicians and provide technical support and mentoring for Jr. technicians and trainee technicians.
• Interpretation withdrawing, Codes, Standards, Specification and Customers in-house specification and carry out redline markup to address changes in As-Built Drawings.
• Oversee the use, care, and operation of process control instrumentation, electrical, and related equipment; recommend and implement new and revised procedures, systems, and equipment.
• Access and report against tasks within the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) ensure that all work history with necessary details and data are entered into the system.
• Oversee and participate in installing and maintaining electrical control systems and instrumentation systems including electronics, programmable controllers, telemetry, telecommunications, meters, generators, transmitters, hydraulics, pneumatics and a variety of other systems; inspect installed systems to ensure proper operation.
• Establish and maintain instruments spares inventory. Estimate time, materials, and equipment required for operations and projects; coordinate the purchase of required materials.
• Develop and implement maintenance standard procedures and checklists for all electrical and instrumentations in the field and validate the documents to address changes and modification.
• Plan, coordinate and lead the execution of custody transfer metering proving and validation tasks with third party and clients (PDO & OGC).
• Proactively participate in generating new ideas related to the continuous improvement in the instrumentation field to optimize and maintain an up to date systems in line with the company strategy.

Experience:

minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience as an instrumentation a maintenance technician in the Oil & Gas Industry where main duties include the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various process instrumentations, gas analyzers and chromatographs. Familiar with custody transfer metering skid systems (Coriolis, Ultrasonic, etc.), flow computers (OMNI) & associated equipment.

Education/Qualification:

Minimum of Technical Diploma in instrumentation, control system or electronic engineering.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, instrumentation systems, analyzers, and their sampling and conditioning techniques. Aware of the basics of PLCs and SCADA software and hardware; electronic schematic diagrams and P&IDs. Knowledgeable of the methods and techniques of calibrating electronic equipment; use and safe operation of a wide variety of standard hand and power tools and electronic and electric test equipment related to field and shop work; basic methods and techniques for troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failure; laws, rules, and regulations governing maintenance and operation of instrumentation equipment; safe work practices and the ability to identify workplace hazards and/or unsafe conditions and take appropriate corrective action.

Skilled and Competent  to inspect, test, troubleshooting, repair and install industrial instrumentation and controls according to established procedures and standards, read instruments accurately; work from and interpret wiring and mechanical drawings; safely use hand and power tools and equipment to test and calibrate instrumentation and controls; accurately estimate labor and materials costs; effectively use a computer for data management and to generate reports; prepare and maintain neat, accurate and complete records; communicate effectively both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical persons; establish and maintain effective working relationships, and perform essential duties of the job without causing harm to self or others.
