If you join our team, you may have the following responsibilities:
• Provides Process Safety engineering expertise within defined area of responsibility, which may include analyzing and managing hazards and dealing with the prevention and control of incidents through continuous risk reduction improvements in order to manage the integrity of operating systems and processes. ·
• Checks completion of tasks involving design philosophy, scope definition, equipment specification, engineering calculations, construction, commissioning and start-up, along with ongoing operations.·
• Applies sound knowledge and skills to solve assigned engineering problems and projects, working with other disciplines, teams, subfunctions and contractors, including relevant operations and maintenance personnel in the field as required, to identify safe improvement initiatives.·
• Acts as coordinator or reviewer for Process Safety engineering related Management of Change (MoC), managing action closure and ensuring appropriate technical practices and relevant industry codes are adhered to when modifications are being made.· Supports efforts to ensure Process Safety engineering risks are understood, controlled and continuously reduced to deliver safe operating results, networking internally and sharing applied information and learnings.·
• Follows BP's Engineering Principles, complies with BP's Code of Conduct, and models BP's Values & Behaviors and competitive solutions to problems. ·
• Develops and applies designated technical practices for controlling the quality/health/safety/environmental/commercial outcomes of new projects and existing process Essential Skills & Experience: ·
• Chartered Engineer or actively working towards achieving Chartered Engineer status·
• Experience in operational support and coordination of complex or multidiscipline activities ·
• Working knowledge on hazard analysis (eg. HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, QRA, What If, FMEA, etc.) ·
• Experience in development of engineering deliverables such as Technical Reports, PIDs, PFD, datasheets etc. ·
• Experience in engineering management of change (MOC)·
• Good understanding of the use of process simulation (i.e. HYSYS)
المهارات المطلوبة
• Open for Omani nationals only
• Process or Chemical Engineering degree (BEng)
• Four years minimum Experience
• Knowledge and experience in design, operation and modification of upstream oil and gas processing facilities
• Experience of oil, gas and water processing
• Experience in Flare and Relief systems
• Experience with supporting plant modifications
• Understanding of the implementation of Continuous Improvement practices.
