Promote R&D/Innovation activities and technology transfer in strategic products and services with high local and regional demand and high implementation feasibility to develop a sustianle competitive advantage of the local supply chain. In particular, S/He will focus on developing local Omani companies to embrace innovation/new technologies in order to sustain their future growth and become more competitive locally and regionally. Also to provide expert advise to ICD and ICD LT on R&D/Innovation matters pertaining to ICV development and sustainability. The incumbent will develop a clear R&D/Innovation strategy and implemantion roadmap including budgeting and resources. S/he will be responsible for all aspects of R&D/Innovation matters.The incumbent will work with and through partners to achieve set goals. S/He will be the primary contact from the ICD team on R&D/Innovation matters and in particular ensuring that R&D/Innovation plan is executed efficiently and effectively. The incumbent will analyse market trends and disruptions to find and evaluate emerging/new opportunities and will act as an expert and facilitator for the most critical innovation projects across the Company, supporting relevant teams in the assets/functions in “raising the bar” of their aspirations. The ICV Directorate: The ICV department was established in 2011 as a response to the drive from the Government of Oman to ensure increased participation of Omanis in the oil and gas business. Its key objectives lie in the actual establishment and development of new and existing businesses that support the industry and in doing so create sustainable employment opportunities for Omani nationals and maximises PDO's third party spend in-country, therein minimising its spend outside Oman. Of equal importance is the creation of skilled Omani jobs and ‘Omanising' PDO's contractor workforce through training to internationally recognised standards, by institutes qualified to deliver training to these standards. Recognising the strategic importance of ICV, PDO introduced an ICV Directorate on July 1st 2014.

Bachelor Degree, preferably in a core science or Technology or Engineering discipline. Minimum 10 years experience in a senior Field Development Technical role Experience of advising senior managers on R&D/Innovation challenges. Experience of successfully executing R&D/Innovation projects. Fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English. A self starter and able to work on own initiative.
