الوصف الوظيفي

The Electrical Lead Engineer in this position is to assume responsibilities that include those of Senior Electrical Technical Authority for Mukhaizna in accordance with the Company Electrical Safety rules. As the primary electrical interface between local and corporate electrical engineering and Operations teams the Electrical Lead Engineer is accountable to the Power Team Leader for the provision and application of technical excellence on all issues related to the operability and reliability of the Low Voltage (LV), High Voltage (HV), Power generation and distribution systems and ESCADA in Mukhaizna.

 

The Electrical Lead Engineer responsibilities include but not limited to:

 
  • Core competency requirements of this position is accountability within the Power Team for all issues relating to strategic maintenance, major improvements and modifications to existing electrical equipment and systems related to longer term projects that are not considered as integral part of day to day field support and maintenance team duties.
  • Development and management of strategic maintenance plans to ensure the availability/reliability of Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) electrical systems throughout the field are in compliance with established targets and company policies procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and commentary on project electrical specifications, electrical single line diagrams, power system studies, schematic and wiring diagrams.
  • Develop and prepare new electrical power systems standards, specifications, design basis and philosophy documents in accordance with industry and corporate policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Develop initiatives and projects to maintain and improve Mukhaizna electrical infrastructure in areas of safety, cost reduction, reliability, Availability and productivity.
  • Develop enhanced metrics and key performance indicators to better monitor and improve electrical system performance and better under key business drivers in the field.
  • Lead any investigations required related to electrical system failures or problems to determine root causes and be responsible for the engineering and implementation of solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead or assist others with the completion of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for major electrical equipment.
  • Interface with commissioning to review or develop start up and commissioning procedures for major projects and individual major items of equipment.
  • Liaison and consultation with the Power Team Leader and the Corporate Engineering function on special maintenance and/or capital projects.
  • Review the power system protection system Study and follow up with field protection technicians the implementation of the approved settings.
  • Continuously monitor the network performance through ESCADA for optimum performance of the network and recommend changes to the Electrical network control based on system dynamics and network configuration.

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferred in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 10 years of technical work experience in electrical transmission, distribution and generation systems in oil & gas operations or similar environments (e.g. power generation, high voltage distribution systems, substations, equipment/end-device protection, power quality, HV/LV motors and VFD’s).

  • Experience in modeling of electric distribution, transmission and generation systems, modeling acumen to include load flow, short circuit, motor starting, stability, load shed, protective device coordination, arc-flash hazard analysis, etc. with computer software (ETAP, Easy Power, EDSA, SKM or similar).

  • Experience with protective relays, circuit re-closers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), power systems (UPS), low and high resistance grounding systems, circuit breakers, power and distribution transformers, synchronous machines, medium voltage switchgear and motor control centers (MCC), large medium voltage motors, high voltage substations, transmission and distribution lines.

  • Experience with electrical reliability and efficiency, power quality, power management systems, electrical SCADA and GIS applications.

  • Good working knowledge of International Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards and guidelines, Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA-70E), and safety standards.

  • Good working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the International Electrical Code (IEC).

  • Broad based knowledge and experience at developing and implementing strategic plans for preventive maintenance, Protection System Monitoring Program (PSMP) practices, personnel/equipment safety, electrical testing and test methods for electrical substations, switchgear, and transmission/distribution lines.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to make effective technical decisions promptly and accurately.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to influence and implement programs.

  • Valid PE (Professional Engineer) license or certificate.
