The Well Integrity Team Leader will be responsible for the team to understand and ensure compliance with Government regulations and Company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines (PSPG’s) with respect to Well Integrity throughout the life cycle of all wells operated by Occidental of Oman. The position will have overall responsibility for the PSPG’s that define how Occidental of Oman manage well integrity, oversight of the routine well integrity testing program and development of remedial measures.
The Team Lead must have a detailed understanding of well integrity management, well barrier design and verification, be knowledgeable in well design & construction, well operation, maintenance and testing, well intervention, and well abandonment in order to provide technical guidance, supervision and mentoring to the team throughout the life cycle of the well. In addition, the position must have demonstrated experience in developing and managing large budgets, contracts and managing multiple contractors.
The Team Lead will provide technical direction and advice to Senior Management and other Departments on well integrity related matters and deliver effective presentations to large multi-disciplinary groups, senior-level management and regulatory authorities.
The Well Integrity Team Leader responsibilities include but not limited to:
Ownership of Well Integrity policies, procedures, standards, ensuring they are updated as necessary
Liaising with Senior Management to ensure adherence to the Oxy Oman Well Integrity Management System (WIMS) and development of well integrity management throughout the life cycle of the well.
Oversight of the well integrity-testing program through Well Integrity Software (WIS) system, ensuring appropriate remediation actions and timelines are applied.
Oversight of enhancements to well designs and remedial procedures to improve life of well performance
Company technical authority on well integrity regulations, issues and well abandonment
Prepare/facilitate cross-functional team risk assessments and review/verification of management of change (MOC) documents related to well integrity.
Oversight of technical reviews, evaluations and investigations of well integrity failures/issues conducted by the Well Integrity Team.
Oversight of well integrity reporting and data management
Developing and managing annual well integrity budgets (in conjunction with accountable Departments)
Developing and conducting well integrity training and providing guidance/mentoring to reports.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience in well design & construction and well intervention operations including 4 years of experience in managing a team.
Demonstrated experience in developing Department and Company-level standards, procedures and guidelines
Demonstrated experience in developing and coordinating Company-wide training programs
Demonstrated experienced for developing annual budgets and successfully managing contracts in excess of $2MM (annual) ACV.
Thorough understanding of well construction & completion design and demonstrable experience in well integrity philosophies & practices.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Demonstrated sound judgment and fact-based decision-making.
High level of experience with electronic data management and reporting systems.
Good communication skills.
