• Understand the requirements set by the Company’s PROCESS SAFETY & HSE policy and comply with it so as not to cause harm to themselves or others, who are involved in their activities.
• Provide a high standard of personal example of HSE.
• Follow all safety, health and environmental policies of the Company at all times
• Follow company quality system policies
• Custodian and Subject Matter Expert for materials selection and evaluation, coatings selection, integrity operating windows, corrosion assessment and mitigation and material failure diagnosis.
• Oversee and direct site-wide corrosion monitoring/mitigation strategies including on-stream inspection, dead leg and small bore fatigue, injection and mix points, brittle fracture avoidance and CUI. Champion the use of monitoring and assessment technologies to improve effectiveness of the integrity program.
• Verify all FCPs/ project proposals with respect to materials selection, construction/fabrication to deliver cost effective asset integrity and reliability.
• Verify and ensure that all corrosion potential hazards are regularly inspected.
• Provide selection and installation guidance for field corrosion probes and interface with plant monitoring/control systems.
• Lead and coordinate failure analysis, metallographic analysis, specialized inspections and determining the need for and contracts outside services of contractors.
• Diagnose issues involving corrosion or other forms of deterioration found during site field testing and recommend modifications and repairs to corrosion systems.
• Review chemical compatibility of proposed injected chemicals.
• Review changes in unit operations impacting corrosion & materials.
• Provide oversight and management of Cathodic Protection system and Soil Resistivity testing.
• Provide technical reviews and input regarding temperatures, pressures and corrosion rates to Management of Change system.
• Provide technical input to chemical inhibitor programs and participate in establishing a testing protocol to evaluate the performance of chemical inhibitors.
• Simulate corrosion occurrences in wet pipelines and predict corrosion rates.
• Participate in developing work instruction and procedures related to materials and corrosion.
• Perform reviews of Project Engineering design packages for proper material selection, temperature and pressures of fixed equipment items.
المهارات المطلوبة
• Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferably with qualification in Materials & Corrosion engineering.
• 10 years of experience in process and utilities of upstream oil/gas industry, petroleum refineries, or chemical process plants.
• Preferred to be NACE certified as a Corrosion Technologist or any similar industrial certifications.
