Job Title:Senior Corrossion & Inspection Engineer,Department:NGLE Operation,Job Purpose:Provides robust engineering services on Asset Integrity (Inspection Services on routine & non-routine corrosion mitigation and control activities in assigned operational area) in core engineering disciplines to support NGLE incidents, under Manager Technical Support Services scope; acting as owner of technical Asset Integrity standards, through (1) Plans, supervises and implements Inspection Services that ensures mechanical availability, integrity and safety of static equipment & piping in NGLE facilities, and (2) Provide technical corrosion expertise, support to projects & operation on material selection, control corrosion and defect mitigation in compliance to regulatory and industry standards to extend the life cycle of valuable operating equipment and optimize efficiencies and avoid expensive unforeseen shutdown in petrochemical plants; in order to ensure and support Asset Integrity and the highest levels of services, quality, safety and productivity to potentially support the growth and diversification of NGLE products and optimise business performance and in turn profitability. Senior Engineer Corrosion & Inspection position will act in accordance with NGLEs' values & strategies, policies, guidelines, technology platform, HSE standards, Omani's government & other legal justification's, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives and Ethics standards.,Roles and Responsibilities:Deliverables Corrosion  Provide appropriate measures to minimize equipment & piping failures in the complex and technically maximized interval between intrusive inspections on turnaround (TA) equipment.  Plans, coordinates and implements online corrosion monitoring & control program for critical process equipment, piping and circuits.  Provide input on material selection & metallurgy issues as and when required from other teams  Perform failure analysis on corroded and failed components and provide/recommend for identified deficiencies (including upgrade/replacement or corrosion mitigation requirements).  Monitor and ensure all documents related to corrosion loops (example marked PFD, P&ID and isometrics, etc.) Thickness Monitoring Level & Integrity Operating Windows are prepared, filed and maintained.  Oversee corrosion data review, analyse results and monitoring of Corrosion Rates from various methods (TML, corrosion probes, IOW etc.  Ensure corrosion inhibitor programs are in place and able to achieve the set KPI's for effective corrosion control.  Review and ensure in service cathodic protection systems are well maintained and achieving the criteria for corrosion protection.  Lead/participate/guide in failure investigations and RCA as required  Participate in Risk Based Inspection process by identifying corrosion loops and degradation mechanisms and provide the Material & Corrosion input to the RBI analyst as required.  Review documents of new projects / modifications related to material selection, corrosion control & plant inspection monitoring and etc.  Review and ensure hand-over documents have appropriate details on material specifications and processes in line with contractual requirements.  Guide and support Engineers to capture any operational upsets, corrosion related concerns and variations in critical process parameters. Inspection Services  Development & implementation of inspection strategies for static equipment, piping and storage tanks; monitors inspection plans, overdue inspection tasks making sure all inspection plans are as per strategies and no overdue inspection.  Provide and implement appropriate scope and frequency of inspection management activities at the sites to ensure the equipment integrity, reliability and in compliance to HSE policy.  Development & establish plant inspection standards, specifications, procedures and modifies existing standards and procedures as per plant requirement.  Reviews & evaluate equipment histories and determines the probable mode of failures, frequency of inspection and type of inspection required.  Provide input on turnaround scope of work for plant maintenance activities based upon on-stream & equipment history records and the frequency of inspection established.  Review documents of new projects / modifications related to material selection, corrosion control & plant inspection monitoring and etc.  Guide & support Inspectors & Engineers in day to day plant inspection activities and involve as necessary.  Evaluate critical process equipment, piping threats & hazards; pro-actively recommend solutions & Inspection Program and coordinate with concerned department to prevent any loss of containment & maintain piping and equipment integrity.  Coordinate with the other team and act as the focal point (operation, external contractors & maintenance) and provide input on repair techniques, materials selection, inspection and testing requirements.  Evaluate failure analysis on corroded and failed components and recommend engineering solutions for failures & Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).  Ensure hand-over documents have appropriate details on material specifications and processes in line with contractual requirements.  Guide and support Engineers to capture any operational upsets, corrosion related concerns and variations in critical process parameters.

Knowledge Experience & Qualifications:  Minimum Qualifications for this position is a University degree in Mechanical/Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or similar.  Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role along with a minimum total experience of 12 years in Inspection Services (Oil & Gas / Petrochemical or Refinery Plant experience preferred).  Knowledge in software applications like Meridium, PI, and RBI etc.  Knowledge of :  Corrosion Monitoring Techniques & Corrosion Inhibitors And Corrosion Control Measures  Coating And Cathodic Protection  NACE, ASME and other industry codes  RBI, RCA and Defect Elimination.  Risk Assessments, HAZOPS & Safety  Good knowledge in QA/QC, ISO 9001, ISO 1400 and HSE plans  Knowledge & experience in NDT & specialized equipment inspection techniques.  Certification :  Certified in National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) is an advantage  Knowledge of inspection, corrosion engineering, welding, materials and QA / QC.  Experience and well versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.  Understanding of Process Plant (P& ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
