The Employee Relations Specialist position will provide support to Industrial/Employee Relations matters in the Human Resources Department
.
The Employee Relations Specialist
responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Maintaining a harmonious Industrial/ Employee relations in the company.
Handle conflict and grievances in the organization.
Arrange and schedules meetings between grieving staff, managerial personnel, and Labor Union representatives to investigate and resolve grievances.
Prepare statistical reports, using records of actions taken concerning grievances related to labor relations activities, to identify areas of concerns.
Involved in collective bargaining/negotiations with the Labor Union.
Advising Management on the laws governing employer/employee relations.
Maintains the relationship between government agencies related labor and employment area.
Conducting frequent visits to the fields location to address employees issues.
Fully understanding the company policies, and able to explain policies to managers and employees.
Consult with management; providing direction and coaching to the management team to ensure that employee issues of common concern within the workforce are addressed and effectively resolved.
Facilitating a team-oriented and a supportive environment and attitude towards Oxy policies and programs.
Recommending solutions to issues and prevention of problems that will drive overall business goals and objectives.
Work with legal to identify and assess legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area.

Bachelor’s Degree
.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in handling labor and employment matters.
Experience in grievance resolution and negotiation.
Must be familiar with Labor law and other Omani laws and applicable resources.
Solid understanding and working knowledge of Human Resources functions, including: staff planning, recruiting, compensation analysis & administration, employee and organization development, change management, performance management, communications, employee policies, equal opportunity affairs and the regulations relating to these areas. In-depth experience in one or more disciplines within HR functional area.
Experience in and demonstrated proficiency in consulting with line managers.
Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and possess analytical skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal skills in Arabic and English.
Ability to work in a multi-discipline multi-national team environment.
Good personal computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office Suite.
