Provide GIS services facilitating maximum leverage of the value of PDO's geo-information. Services include standard GIS delivery, customised GIS application delivery, data analysis and user support.
Maintain the accuracy, completeness and integrity of PDO's corporate spatial databases including seismic
geo-reference data, bin grid definitions, concession boundaries, wells, survey control, international borders and digital topographic files, and make these data available to mapping and GIS applications.

The job requires a graduate with B.Sc. or equivalent in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or Computer applications development or Land Surveying with strong GIS content , or similar qualification with with minimum of 4 years relevant experience in GIS applications development;
A strong background in GIS and spatial data management or computer applications development employed in an enterprise environment, preferably in support of oil and gas exploration, development and production activities.
Exposure to, and understanding of, practical land surveying techniques, geodetic theory, photogrammetry, remote sensing, statistical testing, database management (spatial data management in particular), GIS applications and a wide range computer techniques, including latest technologies like Oracle, Web publishing etc.
Fully competent in Java and HTML5 programming;
Very good hands-on experience with GIS technology, ArcGIS suite of applications and geo-processing.
Extensive experience in the design and maintenance of relational and spatial databases.
Knowledgeable of survey data acquisition, processing and mapping methodology and software.
Experience with developing (spatial) data models and data harmonisation
Competent with recent IT and IM developments and working within a managed software environment
Experienced with spatialisation and administering spatialisation scripts in PL/SQL and FME.
Experienced in the creation and maintenance of ArcGIS server services and the use of API's like Flex and Silverlight.
Experienced with programming techniques like VBA, ArcObjects, .net, python and model builder.
Experienced in testing of deployments scripts
Very experienced with user support and able to translate user requests into sustainable data flows
Excellent inter-personal and communication abilities are a pre-requisite to maintain and improve user and business interfaces.
