The HES Assistant will assist in
the coordination of the contractor safety performance and adherence to OXY
Environment, Health and Safety Management System, including inspections and
audits to ensure that standards of compliance are met.
The HES Assistant responsibilities will
include but not limited to:
- Health, Environment and Safety Management
System (HESMS)
Assist the HES Team Lead in the
coordination of the HESMS, including auditing the various programs and seeing
that standards of compliance are met.
Meet any specific requirements for HESMS position which may be included
in the HES Management system and comply with company HES rules, in particular
those relating to Personal Protective Equipment and the reporting of incidents.
B. Health
Participate in health and hygiene
inspections of Oxy and contractors facilities, with the Field Medical staff.
Conduct NORM and noise surveillance monitoring as needed.
C. Environment
Assist the HES Team Lead in
ensuring that all Sultanate of Oman Government Regulations and Company
Policies, with respect to Oxy-Oman Environment activities, are in full
compliance. Monitor the handling of
waste materials and storage of Hazardous Waste.
D. Safety
Ensure accurate documentation of
maintenance and operability checks on all fire fighting and safety equipment in
the field. Assist the HES Team Lead, in
ensuring compliance with company policy in all areas of HES. Maintain records of all accidents and
incidents and assist/advise field personnel to maintain required standards of
investigation and reporting. Actively
participate in Emergency Response Team support for callout and drills. Monitor
the Permit to Work system. Assist senior staff in oversight of the Fire &
Safety Equipment Technicians.
E. Training
Assist with the new employee orientation
program, fire-fighting training, and safety training in topics dictated by
company policy. Monitor and assist with
the career development of the HES trainees. To assist the HES Team Lead with
coordination of the HESMS, take part in HES Training activities, prepare
reports, holds HES Awareness Meetings, inspect, and keep records of equipment
maintenance, and other HES activities.
