Job Description

The Maintenance and Asset Engineer is responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of maintenance strategies to ensure reliability, integrity, and availability of equipment and infrastructure in oil and gas operations. The role also involves asset management to maximize operational performance, extend asset life, and comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Skills Required

>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Maintenance Engineering. >Minimum 7 years of work experience in oil and gas production or operations industry. >Minimum 4 years of work experience in field Maintenance execution /shutdown planning & scheduling. >Familiar with international standards: ASME, API, IEC, ISO, etc. >Understanding of HSE practices in hazardous environments (e.g., ATEX, H2S). >Knowledge in shutdown management system, CMMS work order management, master data management, load leveling, material management and KPIs. >Thorough technical knowledge of various oil & gas industry equipment and services to deliver maintenance work packages.

Maintenance Engineering: -Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans. -Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on critical equipment failures. -Optimize maintenance routines using industry standards -Monitor and analyze equipment performance data -Lead and support shutdowns, turnarounds, and major equipment overhauls. -Coordinate with vendors and OEMs for complex maintenance activities. -Provide the required policies and procedures and oversee the plant mechanical integrity program. Asset Management: -Maintain an accurate asset register and ensure asset lifecycle documentation. -Develop and manage asset integrity programs (e.g., corrosion control, condition monitoring). -Conduct asset performance reviews and recommend life extension or replacement strategies. -Support risk-based inspection (RBI) and reliability programs for static and rotating equipment. -Ensure alignment of asset strategy with HSE and operational objectives. Compliance & Safety -Ensure maintenance and asset management activities comply with internal standards and external regulations (e.g., API, ISO, OSHA, SMRP). -Participate in HAZOPs, audits, and safety reviews. -Promote and enforce safe work practices and permit-to-work systems. Reporting & Documentation -Prepare technical reports, maintenance KPIs, and asset health dashboards. -Ensure proper documentation of maintenance history, inspection reports, and modifications. -Support budgeting, cost control, and procurement related to maintenance and assets.
