Job Description
•Initiate and conduct a wide range of integrated reservoir engineering studies to optimise oil recovery from the heterogeneous sandstone, highly fractured heterogeneous carbonate reservoirs and unconventional reservoirs.
•Ensures robustness of reservoir engineering related methods and assumptions in subsurface models applied for development plans.
•Conduct/manage reservoir simulation studies, particularly focused on heterogeneous fractured carbonate, unconventional tight sand/carbonate and thermal recovery of relatively heavy oil.
•Evaluate waterflood development of various types of reservoirs including the assessment of the ongoing waterflood development of some of the fields.
•Carry out studies using fit-for-purpose simulation models and methods for improved understanding of promising new technologies to develop heavy oil reservoirs.
•Conduct/manage field development studies, focused on recovery methods of unconventional light oil sands and heavy oil carbonate reservoir.
•Leads an efficient analysis of reservoir engineering data through the adoption of advanced and highly reliable software/technology and tools to predict the characteristics, behaviours of the reservoirs and production deliverability.
• Identifies subsurface uncertainties and develops plans to acquire reservoir engineering related data to mitigate the associated risks.
•Perform volumetric, reserves and with a sound understanding of economics assessment.
•Plan the implementation of short to long term strategy to manage field lifecycle, reservoir management activities, production optimization, enhance well and reservoir integrity and manage production and subsurface data.
•Carries out economic analysis of proposed new developments and workover opportunities as part of the FDP.
•Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
•Ensure knowledge transfer to younger reservoir engineers.
Skills Required
•Bachelor’s or higher degree in petroleum engineering, or an equivalent degree in another engineering discipline
•Over 20 years of extensive experience, primarily with an E&P operator, with a focus on challenging reservoir issues within heterogeneous and unconventional reservoir (tight sands /tight carbonates). – preferably with experience from the Middle East region as well as other parts of the world.
•Proven expertise in the development of heterogeneous and unconventional reservoirs, with hands-on experience in reservoir simulation and analytical analysis.
•Strong foundation in reservoir engineering fundamentals, with practical experience across various reservoir types and systems including pressure transit analysis (PTA), PVT, SCAL.
•Extensive experience on reserves classification, estimation, and booking procedures ensuring compliance with industry standards
•Good understanding of static and dynamic reservoir characterization and 3D modelling techniques.
•In-depth knowledge of static and dynamic reservoir characterization, integrated with advanced 3D modelling techniques.
•Broad understanding of related subsurface disciplines, including geophysics, geomechanics, petrophysics, production technology and reservoir economics, enabling comprehensive subsurface evaluations.
•Strong scripting and data analytics abilities for workflow development and managing subsurface property uncertainties.
•Extensive experience in leading and managing field development plan (FDP) & integrated reservoir modelling (IRM) projects, serving as an effective project integrator to align multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders. Ability to establish optimal development strategies from a portfolio of opportunities and options and ensuring team efforts are focused on places of highest impact
•Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior staff, fostering a high-performance team environment.
