Job purpose Develop lead and monitor the execution of all Instrument maintenance activities & gas transportation facilities of the Gas Network in the designated area 9norht or south) under Instrument Maintenance scope’s as owner of Instrumental standards for maintenance works and execution of minor projects, modifications in accordance with the technical standards set to maintain the assets through: (1) Leading the design Maintenance Instrumental services on planned / un-planned maintenance works utilizing best practice. (2) Coordination and supervision of assets, products and maintenance work in the designated area, (3) Implement plans and coordinate Instrumental maintenance works (4) Lead the designated staff and external contractors in performing Instrumental maintenance services on planned / un-planned maintenance activities; in order to ensure maximum availability of plant by optimization of cost & resource; in line with OQ HSE and business policies ensuring integrity of facilities in order to deliver the integrated activity plan. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |
Main tasks and responsibilities - Controls all work for instruments maintenance and calibration.
- Receives and analyses periodic reports on instruments maintenance and scheduled turnarounds and determines the best course of action for increasing the Section’s efficiency.
- Provides full technical & manpower support during plants’ shutdown.
- Determines long-term instrument maintenance policy and oversees detailed planning of maintenance activities and programs.
- Reviews policies of warehouse materials/spare parts and determines strategy of their handling and procurement.
- Coordinates efforts within the Section to develop guidelines, specifications, best practices and procedures for maintenance of pressure, level, flow, temperature, vibration and pH instruments.
- Maintains technical expertise in functional areas of process instrumentation.
- Carries out the technical evaluation of bids and generate the evaluation report.
- Develops IDP of Omanis within the section, prepares training programs and monitors their implementation
- Prepares procurement plan for his section.
- Reviews policies of warehouse materials/spare parts and determines strategy of their handling and procurement
- Prepare annual leave plans.
- Accountable for continuous flow of Instrumental power to the Logistic facility / buildings.
- Accountable for continuous availability of Instrumental equipment
- Ensure application of best work practices in execution of Instrumental maintenance jobs.
- Responsible for Instrumental side of project implementation in the Logistic facilities.
- In emergency maintains close liaison with Operation Coordinator

Education requirements | - Bachelor’s in Engineering, or related. (Instrumental preferred)

- 5+ years of experience in similar / relevant position
- Adaptable and motivated general management strategist who relishes challenges.
- Experience in bids evaluation and knowledge of contracts management & spare parts optimization.
- Experience and knowledge in project planning, cost control, contract development, installation, trouble shooting, and start-up.
- Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.
- Good experience in handling of Maintenance Contracts and shutdown related jobs.
- Knowledge of :
- Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Expertise in SAP- PM
- Process Equipment Life-Cycle Management
- Experience in condition monitoring systems on rotating equipment.
- Good knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans.
- Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reports
- Knowledgeable in HSE plans related to maintenance activities.
- Understanding of Process (P&IDs / PFDs) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
Instrumental: - Knowledge of instrument control loops.
- Familiar with Systems, Applications and Products in data processing (SAP).
- Experience on Local control station/ Plant interface bus and DCS.
- Good knowledge of modern maintenance technologies & maintenance Planning and execution of Instrumentation Equipment’s , Analysers, Calibrations, control systems, ESDs
