Job purpose Execute the activities for service management under delegated authority from N-4 service deployment & management, acting as owner of service management standards, by establishing and executing the plan, directing and controlling all the activities related to service management; in order to support Information Management & digital Transformation at OQ to ensure the continuity and efficiency of the business. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives |
Main tasks and responsibilities - Identify and employ effective tools or techniques and methods for systems administration
- Advise the leadership team of new and emerging information technologies and/or industry trends.
- Interpret IT policies, standards, and guidelines, and conduct analyses to recommend resolution of complex issues affecting systems administration.
- Monitor, test, and evaluate real-time system performance and recommend and implement improvements and responses.
- Model and simulate systems capacity requirements using best practice tools, techniques, and capacity management principles.
- Recommend on-premises and cloud hardware/software/service replacements or upgrades to meet current and future requirements.
- Assist in the refinement of DevOps and release processes and ensure products are release-worthy.
- Evaluate and coordinate systems issues escalated by helpdesk. Coordinate notification for issues to affected customers.
- Support licensing partners with software releases, knowledgebase content, questions about hosting, and related communications and planning.
- Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.
- Execute systems administration efforts to develop and apply policies for operations, information assurance, and Risk Management.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, written and verbal, internal and external, regarding a wide variety of operational functions.
- Assist in annual budget preparation and requirements definition for systems.

Education requirements | Minimum Qualifications for this position is a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related disciplines. |
