Job purpose

Execute the activities for change management under delegated authority from N-4 service deployment & management, acting as owner of change management standards, by establishing and executing the plan, directing and controlling all the activities related to change management; in order to support Information Management & digital Transformation at OQ to ensure the continuity and efficiency of the business.

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities.
  • Assess the change impact and complete change management assessments.
  • Create a change management strategy.
  • Identify, analyse and prepare risk mitigation tactics.
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance.
  • Consult and coach project teams.
  • Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communication plan, sponsor road map, coaching plan, training plan and resistance management plan.
  • Support communication and training efforts.
  •  Support and engage senior leaders, and coach managers and supervisors.
  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists within the Human Resources (HR) and other departments.
  • Integrate change management activities into the project plan.
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness.
  • Manage stakeholders while tracking and reporting issues.
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.
  • Manage the portfolio and change load.

Internal: Assurance, F&S, Commercial, Downstream, Upstream, Project and Technology

External: Staffing specialized Contractors, Vendors & Suppliers

Notable Working Conditions. Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site.

Education requirements

Minimum Qualifications for this position is a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related disciplines.

Language

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar role, in a large oil industry industrial organisation.
  • Experience in project management / Change Management.
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
