Job purpose Provide leadership, best practices, support and training for all Global Planning processes and tools associated with planning & scheduling. Acting as process owner for production planning & scheduling activities across all planning cycles. Scope covers relevant areas of Strategic Planning, Business Planning, Operational Planning, and Scheduling, achieved through; (1) Providing expertise on best practices for Global Planning processes and tools, and (2) Driving continuous improvement by analyzing gap-to-potential across processes, data, and tools. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |
Main tasks and responsibilities - Owner of processes, data and systems supporting hydrocarbon supply chain planning and scheduling, including Aspen PIMS, APS and Advisor, and Picasso;
- Use back casting to steer continuous improvement in the models by analysing actual performance as compared to the LP.
- Initiate and lead regular reviews of processes in Global Planning, and Process and Engineering services within technical, including process performance, proposing actions, and driving completion with relevant action owners;
- Owner of Global Planning Annual Audit Plan, including external tool reviews;
- Directly supports projects in accordance with Commercial and business guidelines;
- Develop and deliver ad hoc training and support in relation to processes and tools;
- Recommend performance interventions and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Recommend data quality and standards improvements;
- Define clear roles, directions, responsibilities, performance requirements and targets for CoE team;
- Monitor and manage planning and scheduling model and process performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive high performance.

Education requirements | - Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Financial, Commercial or similar. (required)
- Postgraduate degree in Engineering / Business / Finance (preferred)

Background and experience | Competencies and skills |
- +7 years of Downstream Refining/ Petrochemical Commercial / Trading / Hydrocarbon Value Chain experience (required) with at least 5+ years in a similar senior role (preferred)
- Expertise in LP and Scheduling applications (essential)
