Principal Accountabilities
• Guide and mentor less experienced Omani Petroleum Engineers
• Adhere to PDO’s HSE standards and practices
• Responsible for putting together economic analysis and business plan results for the cluster
• Responsible for rolling up yearend reserve reports for the cluster
• Provide reservoir engineering/simulation experience to update Field Development Plans in the cluster
• Perform reservoir analysis with analytical techniques and construct/history-match compositional reservoir simulation models for the miscible gas EOR projects.
• Identify and manage key subsurface uncertainties for the miscible gas EOR projects and primary depletion projects.
• Define and implement comprehensive reservoir data acquisition and surveillance plans to manage uncertainty in recovery processes.
Staff Development:
• Demonstrate technical leadership and model behaviors.
• Develop PDO's capability in subject area (across skill pool and develop Miscible Gas expertise within PDO).
• Actively contribute to regional and/or global networks in subject area.
Key Challenges:
• Evaluating miscible-gas EOR recovery mechanisms and development concepts in complex PVT characterization and compositional modelling.
• Developing PDO's capability in miscible gas EOR.
Key Competencies Required:
• Effective communicator, with ability to communicate subject area to a wide variety of stakeholders (e.g. staff within discipline, other-discipline staff, PE management, external).
• Ability to work as effective team member.
• Ability to interface and network effectively with other expert practitioners within the discipline/subject area and with other disciplines across a wide range of organisational boundaries (e.g. PDO Hydrocarbon Maturation centre, PE line & function, corporate planning, operations, drilling, well services, engineering, gas, exploration, Shell, Industry).
