About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

Design, prepare and delivers training programs and facilitate hands-on exersices/experiments for Mechnical (Maintenace,Rotating,Reliabilty and Static) engineering. Evaluates and develop required curriculum goals and objectives. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and training and assessment  records. Ensures that safety and security requirements are met in the training area.

Education & Experience

•    Accredited Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Automobile, Manufacturing or equivalent ,Rotating equipment Engineering.

•    Minimum of 8 years industry experience working in diverse Business, Oil and GAS Exploration and Production settings; at least 2 years work experience as an instructor/coach/trainer in the following areas:

•    Rotating equipment engineering & Maintenace related experience Hydrocarbon processing industries 
•    Maintenace engineering experience 
•    Reliability.
•    Appropriate experience in Static equipment and Piping systems

•    Good knowledge and understanding of the Oil / Gas / Steam,polymer  and other Enhanced oil recovery systems.
•    High knowledge of  HSE,Asset integrity and process safety requirements
•    Experience with early Foundation Learning events and under pinning knowledge.
•    Strong networks within the technical and/or learning communities.
•    Enthusiastic and energetic in dealing with people.
•    Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and genuine interest in people.
•    Excellent communication, coaching and facilitating capabilities.
•    Excellent Planing and program delivery skills 
•    Fluent in spoken and written English.
•    Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
•    Experience in using Learning Management System 
 

Main Responsibilities

•    Design, develop and delivers training programs and facilitate hands-on exercises for Mechanical training programs.
•    Design, develop and Deliver mandatory PSM skill courses pertains to mechanical Disciplines (Static, Rotary)
•    Reviews, evaluates, reflects, and revises program curriculum, content, and training delivery methods.
•    Coordinate with relevant discipline engineering in design and developing specialized Rotating and Maintenance engineering courses
•    Applies the full spectrum of learning methods (i.e. on the job, blended, coaching/mentoring, classroom , networks and simulation) 
•    Support Learning and development department in essential business need as a mechanical Subject Matter Expert.
•    Liaise with the relevant stakeholders to align the program content with the competency framework to Operate and Maintain.
•    Coordinate with respective function the specific requirements of theoretical and practical training activities.
•    Provide regular progress reviews of the trainees and graduates and report the status and any identified risks 
•    Assist the related function in assessing technicians and operator’s capability. 
•    Maintain records of assessment progress and administration.
•    Develop a Training Plan & Schedule.
•    Supporting Training department for continuous business process improvements.
•    Ensure the availability of model production facility, mechanical workshop facilities, standard mechanical, test equipment and special tools in accordance with the company's procedures.
Discipline Activities:
•    Develop Short process safety courses/ Asset Integrity Process Safety Management (AIPSM) programs to address Line competence requirements
•    Develop Discipline training calendar.
•    Deliver training programs 
•    Record and report trainees and Graduates progress against training plans.
HSE related: 
•    Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties and tasks and guide the trainees on safe working practices.
•    Ensure HSE and Permit To Work (PTW) systems are followed before starting a job, ensure proper use of tools and PPE, conduct regular site visits, advice co-workers on potential hazards, check safety equipment, notify management of unsafe working conditions, report HSE incidents, actively participate in HSE meetings.

Process safety related:
•    Ensure that Critical Tasks related to Asset Integrity-Process Safety Management (AI-PSM), as defined in the Procedural Manual, are undertaken, and executed.
•    Identify and comply with AI-PSM responsibilities as documented in the AI-PSM System.
