Responsible for all Rig/Hoist mechanical equipment including responsibility for maintenance, parts ordering and administration of PMS system equipment. Demonstrating an ability to work independently under general supervision and an ability to exercise leadership and set a safe work example to junior maintenance personnel.
Diploma in MechanicalMinimum of 5 years experience in on Rig / Hoist mechanical equipment Good understanding of process management.Possess an excellent command of the English Language (written and oral) combined with excellent communication and computer skills.
• Operate, maintain and repair Power Plant and Hydraulic and Pneumatic equipment on the rigs and hoists. • Assist the Rig Manager and the Rig Mechanic in planning and executing rig moves and major maintenance.• Provide Coaching and Training to the Rig Mechanics on the Mechanic training program.• Maintain the maintenance and repair records of all critical and major equipment on the rig and hoist.• Conducts operations in a safe manner according to PDO policies and procedures.• Observes proper rig operating procedures, noting unsafe practices.• Plays an active part in QHSE meetings, tool box meetings, the LEAN program and all other company safety management systems.• Signs the electrical isolation part of the Permit to Work and performs and checks any equipment isolation that may be necessary to safely perform the work in question.• Trains the crews in emergency evacuation procedures.• Monitors power plant operations in the event of an emergency.• Is proficient in STOP for supervisors and uses its techniques. Promotes the use of STOP for employees to the personnel under his supervision.• Directs Power Control Room (PCR) operations in the event of an emergency.• Pays particular attention to the maintenance of all electrical safety related equipment.• Familiar with Management of Change Requirement and ensdure it is followed• Responsible for the practical training of the new people in his crew with respect to HSE• Observes the Life Saving Rules (LSR’s) and promote them to personnel under his supervision• Ensures that all company disseminated information applicable to his staff is communicated to them in TBTs, Safety Meetings or by means of Procedure/Instruction training and that execution of such communication/training is appropriately recorded as defined in respective Procedures.• Carries out TBT’s at the beginning of each task and on change of operation/task and supervises all work under his control to an extent as is necessary to ensure the safety and integrity of staff and plant at all times.
