• Carry Technical Authority TA1 for all matters related to Well Control, specifically deviations from company standards
• As Document Custodian, review and update, as often as specified within the respective CMF document, GU-576, Blowout Contingency Plan and SP-1213, Well Control, to contribute towards keeping Wells owned standards relevant and up-to-date
• Provide expert advice on all matters related to Wells Process Safety which includes well control (procedures, equipment) and well design integrity to facilitate a safe operation and well integrity across the life cycle, in compliance with Personal Health and Safety, Wells Process Safety and Environmental Protection Standards, as outlined in with CP-122-HSE Manual as well as CP-178, Well Delivery CoP and subordinate Standards to meet company objectives and production targets.
• Ensure alignment of contractors’ bridging documents with PDO’s Well Control CMS documents (SP-1213, Well Control and GU-576 – Blowout Contingency Plan)
• Direct contractors’ Wells Process Safety initiatives as well as development and maintenance of contractors’ sense of barrier ownership through coaching
• Lead incident investigations for all level 2 well control incidents and drive assurance on gap closure actions
• Provide assurance on well control conformance and well design integrity through examination of well work programs across the entire well life cycle
• Provide assurance on well control readiness through tracking of and reporting on relevant Wells Process Safety related KPIs (e.g. WCAT compliance of work units, Well Control Audit scores)
• In Emergency situations, act as Well Engineering Task Force Team Leader as per PR-1287, Emergency Procedures part III Contingency Plans, vol II Well Engineering Operations; Call off of Specialist Support
• As PTE keep abreast of developments (new processes, practices, technologies, methods, ways of working,) related to Wells Process Safety and Well Control
• As PTE advise Management on all issues related to Subject Matter
• As PTE and member of the KIM Support Organisation, be custodian of the KM base for all matters related to Wells Process Safety and Well Control and contribute towards making UWD a learning organisation by driving the use of the Well Engineering KIM framework.
• As PTE, provide Wells Process Safety and Well Control Expertise towards UWD-owned standards, contracting strategies and contracts, Opportunity Framing activities VARs and Audits
• As PTE teach in UWD and PCL learning events, coach and mentor on all matters related to Wells Process Safety and Well Control
• As PTE, motivate, coach, mentor, develop and assess people in all matters related to Wells Process Safety and Well Control
• Actively promote Lean with subordinates and identify opportunities for Lean projects
• Live the PDO Values (Honesty, Integrity, Respect for People), exhibit the PDO behaviours (Engagement, Respect, Collaboration and Performance) and act as role model for colleagues and subordinates
• Self-assure own and assigned team’s deliverables to ensure that they are fit-for-purpose, meet company standards and are of the required quality
