About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

Technical expert in Production Chemistry chemical applications in Oil and Gas business for all the processes which impact crude oil, gas and water production from reservoir, to flow lines, to fluids separation, processing and product specification for export quality as well as all those which require re-injection into reservoir for all type of recovery processes. The incumbent covers the whole spectrum and assure deployment of Production Chemistry in all stages of Project management, and operation life through standard practices/processes, audits and inspections.

Education & Experience

?    Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering (or others Petroleum engineering, Geology with chemistry as major) with of a minimum of 15 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Production and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Production Chemistry and dealing with chemical monitoring, chemical projects management both at surface and downhole operations for all produced fluid types (Gas, Crude oil, Water streams).
?    Must have working experience in handling High Pressure, High Temperature, High Sour samples in oil and gas.
?    Must covers full spectrum of E&P Production operations (Crude, Water & Gas processes)
?    Should be familiar in managing Third-party service contracts and HSE issues impacting the business relating to flow assurance issues and selection of injection points.
 

Main Responsibilities

?    Stand in expert and TA2 in production chemistry supports to Project Management. Manage threats and barrier matrix related to chemical applications, sampling, and laboratory testing requirements.
?    Latest with market development and technologies in the surface Production Chemistry applications in oil and gas operations and its life cycle. Evaluate, introduce, and drive new technology deployment and associated management of change.
?    Lead and contribute to all GtP deliverables related to chemical applications. Manage all Process Safety, Operational and Chemical threats are simulated, modeled, and corresponding production chemistry barriers e.g. monitoring, surveillance, KPIs, chemical and operational solutions, compatibility checks, chemical availability are ensured.
?    Ensure readiness of technical specifications, chemical selection guidelines for surface Production Chemistry process and support tender evaluations in surface chemicals. This may involve developing inhouse technical capabilities and specify service level agreements for treatment KPIs.
?    Participate and lead in chemicals related audits, health checks, technical reviews, investigations, and peer assists as well as support in L2 audits for production chemistry governance documents.
?    Build an effective strategy to mitigate and reduce deferment through modeling, sampling, analytical testing and surface chemical applications.
?    Explore Cost competitiveness and GHG strategies for Production Chemistry surface chemical applications.
?    Perform as coach, assessor and trainer for staff Skill level development in the area of Chemical Management, Acquisition of laboratory data, Project management, contracts management, GtP and cost competitiveness. 
?    Organize and conduct discipline specific lectures, trainings, workshop within PDO and others. Review and submit technical papers/presentations/poster/Publications.
