Job purpose Perform operations and maintenance of all Electrical related systems at Pumps, Generators, Compressor Stations and any such rotating or static equipment located along the Terminals. Provides mentoring, coaching, and training for Electrical fresh Technicians. Provides support for the Maintenance Supervisor. The position will act in accordance with OTTCO’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |
Main tasks and responsibilities - Perform all Electrical activities role in Tank Terminal Industry.
- Participate in Construction and Commissioning and Operation phases of the Terminal.
- Provide general support activities directly linked to Electrical and systems.
- Validate and enter all relevant data of the maintenance within the Area into maintenance planning system.
- Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
- Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)..

- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties and tasks and guide the subordinate staff on safe working practices.
- Deal with voltage LV/HV.
- Ensure HSE and PTW systems are followed before starting a job, ensure proper use of tools and PPE, conduct regular site visits, advice co-workers on potential hazards, check safety equipment, notify management of unsafe working conditions, report HSE incidents, actively participate in HSE meetings.
- Maintain inventory of spares for the year by using SAP software, and initiate procurement in order to ensure their availability during overhauls and emergency maintenance and thereby ensuring the quality and timely completion of work. To follow up spares availability and advise for proper follow up so that plant availability is always ensured. To inspect materials / spares newly purchased at stores.
- Constantly review Electrical equipment for improvements in operability, reliability, safety and integrity and provide written feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Communicate closely with the Maintenance Supervisor regarding work planned at a facility prior to any work being executed.
- Maintain tools and equipment to be fully operational and in good working order.
- Review, re-engineering, and Resolve any electrical operations and maintenance issues with sub-contractors and any projects related to company.
- Support Maintenance Supervisor and provide leadership, mentoring and training to Electrical Technicians and summer school students.
- Implement and adhere to QHSE programs commensurate with corporate policies and operations and maintenance activities.
- Review the power system protection system study and ensure the implementation of approved settings.
- Participate at any investigation required related to electrical system failure or problems to determine root causes and to be responsible implementation of solution to prevent recurrence
- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed

Education requirements | Minimum Qualifications for this position is Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering or Equivalents Qualifications |
Language requirements | Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) Arabic - Native (desirable) |
Background and experience | Competencies and skills |
- 5–7 years of experience in Electrical Power Production and distribution Maintenance activities preferably at Oil and Gas Industry.
- Technical work experience in electrical distribution in oil and gas operation and maintenance or similar environment (high voltage distribution system, end-device protection, power quality, HV/LV motor and VFD’s)
- Experience with protective relays, variable frequency drives (VFD’s), power system (UPS), low and high resistance grounding system, circuit breakers, power and distributing transformer, IPCS, synchronize machines, GIS/AIS switchgear, motor control centre (MCC), underground cable, HVAC system and large medium voltage motors.
| - A good knowledge of relevant operations, HSE requirements, Oil/Gas process & systems procedures and practices.
