Job purpose
Perform routine analyses of scheduled & special samples under Team Lead Lab Services’ Scope, through executing them during normal operation of plants, test runs and product blend trials, using calibrated lab instruments in order to ensure continuous support to service providers with effective solutions and commitment to meet the Technical Requirements and enhance business performance
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Performs qualitative and quantitative analyses, including LIMS data entry, of process intermediates and wastewater effluent, finished products and blending samples using accepted analytical methodologies.
Handles independently with minimal supervision for all instrument in his area of assignment.
Assess instrument performance using control samples.
Prepare necessary reagents, solutions, indicators & Standardization
Monitors and reports about the critical requirements of chemicals and glassware.
Monitor the safe and efficient tasks completion by Lab contractors.
Perform housekeeping activities within the area of responsibility.
Adheres to HSE protocols and procedures in the Working Environment and to Maintain Good House Keeping.
Initiates self-improvement plans and expedites learning through the participation in effective training programs and other relevant learning opportunities.
Disposal of hazardous & Non hazardous Lab waster as per the Disposal protocol
Should be aware with Basic PPE and Laboratory Standards protocol
Should be Aware of Process Chemistry , Testing of Basic Petroleum & Polymer Analyzers and Pertained Testing Methods involved with
Key interactions
Internal: Manager, Team Leaders, Chemist , Analyst , Equipment Specialist and Technicians.
External: Service providers.
Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.
Education requirements
Minimum qualification required is a Diploma in Chemistry.
Language requirements
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) Arabic - Native (desirable)
Background and experience
Diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience
Should be Familiar with Specification Limits for Finished Products & Process intermediates
Knowledgeable in updating the Results in LIMS on daily basis within the Stipulated period and not to over delay in updating the Test Results in LIMS.
Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.

Independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision.

Should be aware of properties and safe handling procedures of routine samples.
Knowledgeable in performing the routine laboratory analysis for Hydrocarbon , Utilities & Polymer samples
Aware of Standard Test methods (ASTM, UOP,IP, IFP, ISO , APHA , SMS & Licensor ).
Capable to prepare chemical reagents and solutions.
Familiar with sample retention and disposal protocols.
Capable to support test run and product blend optimization requirements from Plant Operations/SCM
Aware of Final product specifications.
Familiar about Basic Petroleum , Polymer & Utilities equipment’s operating principles
Aware with the relationship between the test parameters, test results and process requirement.
Capable to review and validate analysis results.
Familiar with routine equipment performance checking procedure.
Knowledgeable with LIMS ( Laboratory Information Management System )
Aware of ISO and OHSA management systems
Can communicate in English and Arabic, verbal and written
