About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

A uniformed position that is required to co-ordinate aspects of equipment, personel protective equipment in order to ensure a Fit For Purpose Fire & Rescue Service including Operations, Maintenance and Training Functions. The Equipment Co-ordinator reports to the facilities integrity lead.

Education & Experience

  • Higher Diploma in fire and Safety Engineering or relevant major with five years of experience in Fire and Safety, or;
  • Bachelor's degree in fire and Safety Engineering or relevant major with three years of experience in Fire and Safety.
  • Qualified as an experienced firefighter in all aspects of Aviation, Domestic and Industry firefighting.  
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to effectively coordinate emergency response equipment to ensure integrity assurance 
  • To achieve soft skills including:
  • Knowledge in emergency response equipment
  • English speaking, writing and listening 
  • Competent in Information Technology (I.T)

Main Responsibilities

Is accountable for the coordination of all items of equipment within the PDO Fire & Rescue Service across all PDO sites

•    Operations
•    Maintenance
•    Training and development
•    Fire Safety

Based upon guidance from senior staff, researches equipment types, capacities, characteristics and performance capabilities in line with purpose of use within the requirements of PDO Fire & Rescue Service

Carry out equipment operability reviews to ensure suitability within the area of use within PDO Fire & Rescue Service

To liaise at an operational level with senior officers in regards to equipment requirements as per Fire & Rescue Service needs

Ensure equipment is removed from service (where required) at the appropriate times and made available for inspection and maintenance, being delivered to the appropriate location for inspection and testing

Create a ‘procurement specification document’ for each item of Fire & Rescue Equipment. 

Supporting senior fire officers implement service contracts for the care and maintenance of fire service equipment
