Job purpose  

 

Execute Commercial assigned tasks under the Head of Business Development – Low Carbon Molecules, acting as expert team player for (1)  Executing products offtake and/or commercial agreements discussions for Business Development across Low Carbon Molecules projects in accordance with the AE’s strategy, (2) structuring of JV’s to include other equity investors into projects ensuring it is aligned with OQ’s strategy. (3) Assess and shortlist project-specific potential equity investors and develop a strategy and a process around onboarding them, and (4) Perform long-term forecasting, financial & market analysis on Low Carbon market; to develop new business opportunities to drive growth and profitability.

 

The role will be conducted in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, policies, guidelines, and international standards

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Manage products offtake and/or commercial agreements discussions for Business Development across Low Carbon Molecules projects in accordance with the OQAE’s strategy.
  • Assist on Corporate Offtakes and commercial negotiations (long-term agreement 15 – 20 years), linked to the output of Low Carbon Molecules
  • Support in monitoring and managing existing commercial agreements with stakeholders.
  • Support in preparing and presenting commercial updates across projects assigned (internal & external stakeholders)
  • Assist in project related data management and archiving process (commercial database)
  • Assist in updating the Low Carbon Products team on market developments report and share market insights and views (internal & external).
  • Participate in Research and generate ideas for investments including searching for optimization and integration opportunities.
  •  Support short/long term business plan based on priorities set for Business Development activity in Low Carbon Molecules
  • Assist in developing and implementing commercial risk management strategy.
  • To participate and assist in financial modelling analysis including economic valuations and scenario assessments, liaising with Finance & Strategy where necessary (e.g., with Project Finance)

External: Contractors, vendors, government officials, regulators and policy makers, external consultants, local and international vendors

Notable Working Conditions.

 

Office environment, frequent travel, and visits to the operational sites. Moderate to intensive computer screen use.

Education requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or an energy-related field, engineering, policy, legal, finance, economics, or other related field.

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required),  Arabic - Native (desirable)

5+ years of relevant experience

 

Both:

  • Experience in chemicals or downstream is a plus. 
  • Economic and Business knowledge required.
  • Understanding on commercial terms and conditions.
  • Understanding on Risk management

  • Experience in stakeholder management and presentations to Executive Leadership
