Job purpose The job role involves the development and implementation of the Well Integrity Management System (WIMS) for OQEP, including providing consultancy for well integrity issues and ensuring compliance with WIMS standards. The individual will be responsible for developing testing plans, KPIs, budget estimates, and various documents as per OQEP requirements. Coordination with field personnel, mentoring, and reviewing reports submitted by contractors are also part of the role. The individual will address operational integrity problems, participate in risk assessments, and maintain an overview of well integrity hotspots. The individual will also execute Root Cause Analysis for failures and track corrective actions. The role includes participation in the Management of Change process, responding to audits, and ensuring work is carried out in accordance with technical standards and regulations. The individual will continually improve integrity strategies and processes, balancing technical integrity, reliability, availability, and cost, while ensuring a safe working environment. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |
Main tasks and responsibilities - To develop, maintain & implement WIMS (Well Integrity Management System) guidelines/ system for the well life cycle for OQEP .
- To Provide consultancy to well problems related to integrity, recommend cost-effective investigative and/or corrective measures
- Reviewing the compliance to the WIMS standards in all fields and recommending areas of improvement to enhance compliance
- To develop Well Integrity Testing (WIT) & Subsurface Integrity Testing (SIT) maintenance & testing plans as per OQEP requirements
- To develop & implement well integrity KPI
- Budget estimation for all the well integrity
- Developments of SOW, procedures, reports as per the OQEP & site requirements.
- Coordinating between headquarter and field concerned personnel with respect to well integrity related activities and assignments
- Mentoring and coaching entry level employees according to OQEP DNA plan .
- Reviewing the assessment/ integrity testing report submitted by contractors/consultants
- Reviewing testing and preventive maintenance activities to ensure compliance according to WIMS frequencies
- Carrying out studies addressing specific operational integrity problems as assigned from time to time and preparing appropriate recommendations/action plan for immediate solution of such integrity problems
- Participating in HAZOP and Risk Assessment (RA) associated with well changes/problems that may have potential impact on well integrity
- Developing and maintaining an overview of well integrity hotspots (high risk wells)
- Execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts for well/tubing etc. failures, as well as tracking and implementing corrective action plans.
- Document integrity support efforts and maintain all related data in appropriate systems (Asset Performance Management (APM), SAP, etc.).
- Be an integral person in the Management of Change (MOC) process
- Participate & respond to internal/external & Oman govt. audits related to well integrity & subsurface.
- Governance role to ensure engineering, maintenance, and project work is carried out in accordance with the required technical standards, processes, and procedures while operating in compliance with local regulations and corporate standards.
- Own and continually improve the integrity and inspections strategies and processes to ensure optimum balance between technical integrity, reliability, availability and cost.
- Participate in well intervention (wire line, slickline etc.) as & when required basis
- Ensure a safe working environment in compliance with all company and governmental rules and regulations.
- Any other related tasks

- 8+ years of experience in relevant position in Upstream
- Adaptable and motivated general management strategist who relishes challenges.
- Knowledge & experience in development & implementation of WIMS specialized equipment inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of inspection, corrosion engineering, welding, materials and QA / QC.
- Knowledge of personal computer applications such as :
- ForeSite
- Asset Performance Management (APM)
- Risk Based Inspection (RBI)
- SAP
- Project Management Tools & PDF writer.
- Experience in Well trouble shooting, well testing, process/operation optimization & problem solving.
- Experience and well versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural sensitivity.
- Computer literate with expertise in MS Office.
