Job purpose

Provide on-site, day to day integrated operational support, assistance and coordination for Operation B-60 under TL Operations B-60 / scope. This support includes, but is not limited to PTW, MOC, SOP, PSM, operational audits by (1) keep a proper program to timely execute and update the supporting processes for the operation, and (2) Preserve proper records and documentation of all these processes to provide for operational reports and KPIs; to effectively contribute to maximizing operational continuity and standards of operation.

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide coordination, assistant and execution in preparing and materialize the key supporting operational process (MOC, SOP, PTW, and PSM).
  • Review and follow up operational plans and programs to proactively execute the support processes and procedures required, according to the operational standards.
  • Promote and reinforce a common understanding of the processes and procedures of MOC, PTW, SOP, and PSM by documenting and sharing methodologies among the team.
  • Preserve and update all the required documentation of all the processes to support the operation, providing updated reports, statistics and KPIs
  • Support operations team in developing, completing and getting final approval of the required documentation associated with the key supporting processes.
  • Act as the focal point during audits regarding documentations.
  • Promote and execute brief orientation sessions regarding operational process and documentation to facilitate the proper preparation, follow up and approvals.
  • Develop production forecast and monthly production reports. 
  • Interact with internal customers in MGP and identify gaps and challenges, providing solutions regarding operational support processes.
  • Issuing of Operations approved permit (PTW) and send the report to concerned parties.
  • Provide support in terms of Operational troubleshooting, upset conditions and abnormal situations.
  • Analyze periodic operations reports and discuss with operation team for increasing the department’s efficiency.
  • Support the operation team in troubleshooting, emergencies, incident scenarios, RCA and provide recommendations.
  • Review and enhance the operation procedures and operation philosophy.
  • Track all open safety concerns and coordinating with operations to close them.
  • Coordinate with MGP team and Support team for continues improvement and operation excellence.
  • Participate in Risk Management, technical reviews, Design, HAZOP, SIL etc.
  • Develop operational MOC, TRA and What If.
  • Develop and review operational emergency procedure, Standing instruction, SOP and Trip reports.
  • Support CRO, Operation Team Lead and field operator.
  • Review and arrange to update operation documents.
  • Create Purchase/Service requisition (PR/SR) and carry out technical evaluation (TE) and follow with concern departments.
  • Coordinate with Asset Integrity team for any reliability and Integrity concerns.
  • Coordinate with projects and engineering departments during the development of new projects.
  • Act as CRO and Operation Team Lead in their absence.

Education requirements

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or process engineer, or relevant.

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

 

  • 1-2 Years of experience

Both:

  • Well, familiarized with operational processes and documentation including, but not limited to PTW, MOC, SOP and PSM.
  • Experience in operational auditing.
  • Working experience in Upstream/Downstream Operation facilities.
  • Well conversant with PTW System applicability in oil and gas Upstream industry. Preferably Electronic Permit to Work System
  • Well acquainted with HSE training background.
  • Generate awareness among team members on standard operation procedures, reliability, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Experience in HSSE audits.

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong skills to lead all aspects of Operation Support process & should be able to work collaboratively with all involved.
  • Excellent presenting, communication, verbal and written skills. • Excellent people management skills. • Strong planning and data analytical abilities

 

Technical:

  • Computer literate with expertise in MS Office.
  • Hands-on experience as Field operator and Control Room Operator.   
  • Planning and organizing
  • Deep knowledge of basic health and safety concepts such as hazard and risk assessment, EPTW System, Root cause analysis, machine/ equipment safety, confined space entry among others.
