Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

To provide quality Preventive and Corrective Maintenance to all Production measurement instruments and associated devices in the area ensuring quality data availability from sensing element to company monitoring and reporting systems.

Education & Experience

• Diploma/ Degree in Technical Studies or equivalent studies in plant maintenance specifically in instrumentation.
• Minimum 9 years of expereince in E&P in oil and gas
• Expereince in Production Measurement
• Completed training in Measurement & Control.
• Completed structured training in Production Measurement.
• In-depth theoretical knowledge and practical experience in production measurement instrumentation, operational interfaces, field instrumentation, maintenance management and planning systems.
• Experience in applications and systems e.g. custody transfer and general production measurement, computerized maintenance management system, CMMS (i.e. SAP), data gathering and analysis in real time operation systems, maintenance of field instrumentation, process safety standards and practices etc.

Main Responsibilities

• Excute all assigned Production Measurement Planned Maintenance Activities (PM & CM) in the Area in Safe and Professional Manners.
• Provide specialist input for Production Measurement applications and problem solving.
• Analyse various meters performance in terms of principle of operation and factors that influence selection, design, construction, commissioning, maintenance and operation.
• Systematically carry out metering diagnosis of various meters and analyser types’ application and operation maintenance (calibration/testing/configuration) and ability to estimate the effect when parameters change.
• Analyze metering and analysers’ performance based on the Mass Balance process data based on on line data.
• Positively contribute in understanding and improving metering allocation and reconciliation factors/process.
• Identify and correct metering data presentation across systems from point of measurement to the point of user display.
• Identify and promote decision making when the devices are being operated outside working envelope
• Analyse and update closely essential factors in measuring devices to ensure readings are within agreed accuracy ranges
• Understand and apply Company standard and procedures on Production Measurement.
• Run Flow calculations and meter sizing for function approval and maintain updated database of meters data sheet and flow calculations.
• Attend all breakdown works in Production Measurement Instruments in safe and effective manners to reduce the downtime.
• Analyse all breakdown works troubleshooting to find root causes.
• Work Pro-actively to reduce number of breakdowns by ensuring relevant measuring devices are operated within design envelope.

• Coordinate with appropriate departments (eg. Operations, Engineering, Contractors, etc.)
• Execute all unplanned works in safe and timely manners.
• Obtain Hard copy for the data records of all area Production Measurement Instruments (Sizing sheet, Config files, Data sheets, Manuals etc).
• Use Field Change Proposal system (FCP) to improve the Production Measurement performance.
• Coordinate vendors work and input to the final findings and recommendations on the reports.
• Report all Preventive and corrective maintenance findings in SAP, breakdowns works findings and correctives in SAP.
• Provide feedback any new/modified/removed instrument for updating in SAP, improvement on Maintenance Craft Procedures and Maintenance Plans to the Asset Holder and the Maintenance Support Department.

• Provide Commissioning assistance and support to new projects.
• Participate in HSE audits and Inspections.

• Provide input for the preparation and execution of the section HSE plan.
• Execute HSE activities as per agreed HSE plan.
• Provide by example a positive and high safety (HSE) standard.

• Ensuring implementation and adherence to the requirements of the Permit to Work (PTW) System.
• Supervise and coach contractor staff for safe working practises.
