Job Description

The Rotational Equipment Engineer will work with Oman north operations team, in providing technical and engineering support for Gas Turbine equipment’s from Titan-130 rich mix, Titan-130 SoloNox, Mars-90, Mars-100, Torus- 60, Siemens Alstom SGT-300, the Rotational Equipment Engineer will also be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and identifying bad actors on all Gas Turbines power generation and  compressor driven / driver through KPI’s, in addition achieve maximum turbine machinery reliability by completing the operating cycle time between services without failure and additionally extending the average operating cycle time between services.

 

The Rotational Equipment Engineer responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Monitor, control and take part in directing the quality of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities carried out by Electrical, Instrument and Mechanical teams.

  • Review all technical original equipment manufacturer of the gas turbine (OEM) manuals and propose the maintenance team members on their technical content.

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for all Gas Turbines major or recurring equipment failures and ensure that the resultant action logs and failure reports are expertly reported and filled for future reference if requested.

  • Assure that all Gas Turbines maintenance activities are carried out in a qualified manner, that safety awareness is apparent in the field and that all HES regulations are adhered to.

  • Trouble shoots problems and performs repairs on Gas Turbines driven and driver.
  • Supervise any major maintenance or overhauls on Gas Turbines.
  • Creating and updating Bills of Materials (BOM) for all major overhauls required components.  

  • Review and interpret Gas Turbines specifications, codes, standards, & regulations, as well as attend HAZOP, design review, Pre Startup Safety Review (PSSR) and Maintenance Engineering inspection (MEI) meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of compressors driven and driver.

  • Address activities during performance testing, emissions testing, and reliability testing.

  • Coordinate resources for commissioning of new Gas Turbines control panel and mechanical upgrades.

  • Prepare Gas Turbines detail design packages like, specifications, scope of work for new projects.

  • Work with vendor technical representatives to resolve Gas Turbines technical problems.

  • Attend vendor meetings, inspections, acceptance test and assist commissioning new Gas Turbines.

  • Able to work as a package engineer from concept to completion.

  • Assist and direct Maintenance technicians in troubleshooting Gas Turbines related problems.

  • Ability to upload updated control software version, calibrate fuel management system on Gas Turbines, as well abilities to read, configure, and troubleshoot the control logics.

  • Train and coach young Omani’s on Gas Turbines Operation, Process, maintenance, control and Instrumentation.
  • Develop, and execute standard and custom training programs on Gas Turbines driven and driver, for all maintenance internal field services personnel.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years hands-on-experience in the maintenance of gas turbines.
  • Knowledge on Gas Turbines engines, centrifugal compressor and power generation is an advantage.
  • Experience in the oil and gas or petro-chemicals industries is preferable.
  • Knowledge on Root Cause analysis (RCA), Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance procedures (CM).
  • Knowledge on Computerized Maintenance Management Solution (CMMS) systems, Maximo and Oracle
  • Must be well versed with international codes and standards like, API, ANSI, ASME, etc.
  • Experienced in engineering design.
  • Static equipment engineering knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform analysis and studies in depth, make professional presentations and keep up with technical advancements.
