The Well Site Manager (WSM) will work under the general guidance of the Well Services Team Lead. He will supervise the Workover rig (hoist) operations while they execute the well programs. When applicable, the WSM will also supervise coiled tubing, pumping, perforating & slickline operations on development and exploration wells in a safe, cost effective manner and in conformance with established Company guidelines, policies, procedures, program and applicable governmental regulations.
The Well Services Site Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage and to be responsible for HES and all operations at the well site for Oxy and contractors
Coordinate and supervise the activities of Well Services operations with the Well Services Engineers & Well Services contractors while ensuring program and procedure compliance with company policies
Actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, HES initiatives and daily operational meetings
Ensure that all personnel are working in a safe and professional manner and according to established laws, rules, regulations and standards
Document and investigate all incidents and near misses and provide corrective actions
Ensure QA/QC is performed by evaluating and approving well services & contractor equipment
Manage well control events, responsibilities and highlights any training requirements
Implement OXY and industry standards and to recommend practices that related to Well Services operations and strives to make improvements to the processes and programs
Identify training needs of WS staff on Well Services activities and support individual development plans. Promote Omanization and develop systems for on the job training of national personnel
Comply with company Safety, Environmental and Health rules, regulations and procedures
Conduct periodic planned inspections and implement corrective actions. Audit effectiveness of work permit system and monitor the correct application of all applicable permits and certificates
Order maintenance & inspection of all Well Services equipment on location
Monitor costs and financial tracking for each well and service rig under supervision.
Bachelor degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Well Services activities including 2 years as a Workover rig (hoist) supervisor or management role.
Well intervention experience to include conducting ESP, PCP and Beam Pump installation/replacement, steam flood operations, workover related work including tubing and casing fishing operations, CTU, remedial work, scab liner installation, perforating, cementing, acidizing is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office programs, Landmark Open Wells, WSM or other industry well work reporting systems as well as a good working knowledge of personal computer applications /software
Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral
Must demonstrate a high level of HSE performance and possess experience in working with safety management systems like permit to work
Ability to work with and supervise, train and mentor a multinational work force
Have successfully completed Well Control Training
Must demonstrate ability to work rotational assignment (28/28 or 14/14) in a hot desert climate
Must be flexible with work schedule changes and additional work & training during scheduled days off.
