About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

 The primary purpose of a Senior Well Integrity Engineer is to ensure the integrity and reliability of wells within PDO's operations. This is achieved by:

  • Maintaining integrity of wells to prevent leaks, failures, or blowouts that could harm people, the environment, or company assets by providing technical support.
  • Ensuring compliance with PDO standards and Government regulations to protect the company legally and ethically.
  • Providing expert technical guidance to prevent well integrity failures and to manage any issues that arise efficiently.

 

Ultimately, His role is to supports safe, efficient, and sustainable hydrocarbon production by keeping wells secure and functional.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent  in petroleum engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in well integrity or related discipline.
  • Strong Technical knowledge of well integrity management
  • Familiarity with relevant PDO standards
  • Experience with well integrity software tools (EWIPS), EDM, NIBRAS …. Etc.
  • Proven ability to support technical projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and in high-pressure environments

Main Responsibilities

 

Well Integrity Management

Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of well integrity systems (EWIPS) to ensure compliance with PDO guidelines and industry standards.

Conduct regular assessments of well integrity, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation

  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential threats to well integrity.
  • Develop and implement mitigation plans to ensure safety and prevent failures.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and other teams.
  • Lead well integrity projects, including procedure development and system improvements.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

  • Support compliance with PDO policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on changes in regulations and best practices.

Data Management and Analysis

Collect, analyze, and interpret well integrity and reliability data.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work with operations, well engineering, maintenance, and HSE teams to ensure timely execution of well integrity activities.
  • Communicate integrity status, issues, and recommendations to the Well Integrity Team Lead.
