About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is the leading oil and gas exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. It is a joint venture between the Government of Oman, Shell, TotalEnergies, and PTTEP. Established in 1937 and headquartered in Muscat, PDO is responsible for producing most of Oman’s crude oil and nearly all of its natural gas.

Purpose of the Job

To contribute to the success of project delivery and operations excellence by ensuring that technical document deliverables are managed and controlled in engineering projects and compliant to PDO standards.

Education & Experience

-A minimum of Diploma in Engineering, or IT, or equivalent

-Minimum 9 years in oil and gas industry as a Document Controller

-Knowledge of document control processes and systems on Projects, and interface management requirements in FEED, EPC.

-Microsoft office package

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide onboard training to new document control staff; support/advise contractors, colleagues and project stakeholders in best practice (e.g. bulk loading, document reclassification, etc.).
  • Execute document control procedures for internal and external design and vendor documents, and project correspondence.
  • Create and maintain document distribution matrices based on Discipline Controls and Assurance Framework (DCAF).
  • Quality check (QC) metadata supplied by contractors and feedback issues.  
  • Create transmittals for documents received from contractor, register documents into IM systems, distribute to project team members for action/information.  
  • Manage master document registers and overall document review cycles to ensure timely delivery and close out of all transmitted documents.
  • Control the use of collaborative working areas for uncontrolled documents and information sharing by the team.  
  • Promote and guide the use of approved Electronic Document Management and Control applications, internally within the team and externally to stakeholders and contrcators.
