About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is the leading oil and gas exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. It is a joint venture between the Government of Oman (60%), Shell (34%), TotalEnergies (4%), and Partex (2%).

PDO is responsible for producing most of Oman’s crude oil and natural gas, which are vital for the country’s economy. The company focuses on safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations, using advanced technologies such as Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) to increase production.

Purpose of the Job

• Carry out Corporate Function Static / Piping related activities for assets (operation), contracts and/or projects in order to ensure technical integrity and process safety in compliance with company Guidelines / Specification / Standards / Codes according to DCAF requirements.
• Develop & implement company SOP, procedures / guidelines & specifications.
• Standardization, new technology identification & implementation, support continuous improvement.

Education & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
• Experience in FEED and DD engineering experience in Mechanical Static / Piping 
• A minimum of 10 years in Mechnical/Static in oil & gas experience.
• Good communicator and good inter-personal/leadership skills.
• Experience in managing small teams and third part contractor/licensor.
• Fluent in English; Written and Spoken.

Main Responsibilities

• Participate in HAZID, Design Reviews, HAZOP’s, IPF Classifications, 3D Model Review, HSE related Workshops.Ensure DCAF requirements are in place for projects. Identify corporate discipline risks and provide technical support to mitigate the risks.Deliver solutions, which deliver highest project value.Technical assessment for TA2 and provide recommendation to CFDH.Review and endorsing the technical Deviation.Support Contract management by providing technical Input in implementation of Corporate Frame & Service Contract.Conduct  vendor assessment audit and maintain discipline categories in AVME list.

• Define / Update Company Specification / Procedure / Guideline.Identify external & internal best practices, lessons learned, champion their dissemination and deployment within PDO.Ensure alignment with other disciplines and engineering contractors. Provide high quality input to Omani Graduate Development plan & training courses.
