Purpose of the Job

Formulate, configure and maintain project engineering design databases in one or more PDO  approved engineering design systems: PDMS; Aveva Intellegent P&ID; SP Electrical; SPI; AutoCAD; Aveva NetPortal

Education & Experience

•  Bachelor Degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or Equivalent

•  Minimum 4 years industry-related engineering design systems & tools experience in relevant discipline.

•  Experience in major capital projects in upstream oil and gas, applying Admin skills in relevant application (PDMS, SPI, AutoCad, Aveva NetPortal)  

Application specific professional certification on one or more of the following:
•    AUTOCAD - with proven expertise.   
•    SPI - with proven expertise in SmartPlant Instrumentation configuration and deployment. 
•    PDMS - with proven expertise in 3D CAD (PDMS, PDS, others).
•    Intelligent P&ID, Aveva NetPortal, WalkInside, Point Cloud Data, SP Electrical – with proven expertise

Preferred Qualifications
*    Microsoft excel, knowledge in SQL and MS Access
*    Strong knowledge of SQL and Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau, Qlik, BusinessObjects, etc
 

Main Responsibilities

•    Translate project engineering requirements into design systems functionality to enable creation of 2D and 3D deliverables used for construction, operations, maintenance and future plant improvement projects (typical life cycle 20-30 years).
•    Advise project leadership on EDS technological options/alternatives, make recommendations that best achieve project design goals, which recognise and take account of technical challenges.
•    Develop, initialize and monitor database structures appropriate to the project, that adhere to company standards and procedures. 
•    Architect technology infrastructure to reduce cycle time and cost.
•    Ensure a productive interface with all other relevant project databases (e.g. Oracle, Engineering Design Databases, PDMS, Aveva NetPortal).
•    Train and coach EDS Analysts in engineering design system development and configuration.
•    Formulate and implement design system process improvements, particularly with regard to performance measurement; troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
•    Act as department Point of Contact for relevant industry leading technology trends and innovations;  actively support Lessons Learned activity to constantly improve EDS standards and guidelines.
