The AI Specialist (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence models and algorithms to solve critical business challenges within the oil and gas sector. This role focuses on leveraging machine learning, deep learning, and data analytics to improve operational efficiency, enhance predictive capabilities, and drive innovation across exploration, drilling, production, and maintenance domains. The AI Specialist will collaborate closely with geoscientists, engineers, and other domain experts to translate complex business requirements into scalable, robust AI solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
The Artificial Intelligence Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop and deploy advanced AI/ML models for exploration, drilling optimization, production enhancement, and predictive maintenance.
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for both batch and real-time data processing.
Analyze large, complex datasets to extract insights and support data-driven decision-making across operational workflows.
Architect scalable AI solutions that integrate cloud platforms, on-premises systems, and third-party technologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including geoscientists, engineers, and IT—to implement AI solutions addressing operational and business challenges.
Test, validate, and optimize AI/ML models to ensure performance, robustness, and scalability in production environments.
Stay current with emerging AI and data science technologies, and apply innovative approaches to enhance business processes and operational outcomes.
Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Communicate complex analytical concepts and findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of internal AI frameworks, best practices, and documentation to support scalable model deployment and governance.
Support digital transformation initiatives by integrating AI-driven solutions into existing business systems, workflows, and operational platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, focusing on machine learning, AI development, and algorithm optimization.
Proven experience applying AI and machine learning in the oil and gas industry or similar industrial sectors.
Strong programming proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages with expertise in TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas, and NumPy.
Experience in building scalable AI architectures and integrating cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Proficient in data visualization tools such as Power BI, D3.js, Matplotlib, or Plotly to effectively communicate insights.
Strong front-end development skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with solid UI/UX design capabilities.
In-depth understanding of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning algorithms and their applications.
Experience with big data technologies and real-time analytics frameworks.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle large, complex datasets.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities within multidisciplinary technical teams.
