Job purpose

 

Prepare, coordinate and supervise  Static equipment, PRV and piping mechanical integrity related activities  across associated facilities of OQ Gas Network to address all the  Static technical integrity and engineering issues under Head Integrity and Reliability to support in operating and minimizing technical failures /incidents, acting as owner of Asset Performance Standards, through overseeing  and developing Inspection Services that ensure availability, integrity, and safety of  the Static equipment, PRV and piping in GN facilities, and   support operations in meeting all regulatory and industry standards; to ensure the highest levels of services,  quality, safety and productivity to potentially support the growth Gas Network business performance and in turn profitability 

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. 

 

Mandate QHSSE Obligations

  • Ensure HSE compliance in the integrity management of static equipment, corrosion control, and pipelines for the safety of the people and assets.
  • Conduct HSE Audits and Inspections of static equipment to ensure compliance and identify risks and control measures.
  • Guide, advise, communicate, and enforce safe behavioural practices (Life Saving and Process Safety rules) for pipeline processes to perform the tasks safely.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise systematic and timely technical inspections and recommendations to maximize Static equipment systems and facilities availability. 
  • Prepares reports for critical process equipment, threats & hazards; provides solutions & Inspection Program to prevent any loss of containment and maintain equipment integrity.   
  • Implement (RBI) Risk Based Inspection programs and plans for Static equipment and facilities which ensures focused inspections to optimize inspection tasks and maintenance costs through a comprehensive process and system.   
  • Ensure procedures and systems are in place for mechanical integrity related activities and systematic failure analysis to achieve reduced repeat failures and defect elimination. 
  • Identify and implement specialized inspection programs/advanced NDT methods to minimize intrusive inspections and maximize Static equipment and systems availability.
  • Coordinate with relevant functions to provide inputs based on observations from failures for continuous improvement and design specifications.  
  • Develop & recommend inspection standards, specifications, procedures and modifies existing standards and procedures as per latest standards and best practice requirement.
  • Support facility integrity digitalization by transferring inspection history data to Asset Performance Management platform and stablish systematic integrity assessment.

Education requirements

Bachelor’s or equivalent

Experience and background.

  • 8 years of experience
  • Adaptable and motivated general management strategist who relishes challenges. 
  • working knowledge of design standard for pressure vessels, heaters, PRV and piping.
  • Industry certifications holder of ASME, API, ASNT particularly API 510, API 570 and API 580 is an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of software applications like APM, PI, RBI etc. 
  • Knowledge of: 
  •  Damage mechanisms applicable to Natural Gas transmission industry
  • Coating systems, application and inspection.
  • Plant inspection API codes and standard related to mechanical integrity management of static equipment
  • RBI, RCA, and Fitness for Service assessment
  • PRV calibration and testing.
  • Risk Assessments, HAZOPS & Safety  
  • Good knowledge of QA/QC, ISO 9001, ISO 1400 and HSE plans 
  • Knowledge & working experience in basic and advances NDT methods & specialized equipment inspection techniques. 
  • Familiar with corrosion engineering, welding, materials and QA / QC activities. 
  • Experience and well-versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc. 
  • Understanding of Process Plant (P& ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
