Job purpose

Execute and operate the network operations activities assigned within the designated area under the authority of the Supervisor Operations. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of facilities, providing technical operational support and analysis while maintaining operating expenditures. Responsible for maximizing plant operational efficiency, reliability, and safety to meet the requirements and needs of respective business stakeholders.

 

The position will act as the organization’s mission, vision, values, policies, and guidelines, supported by an IT technology platform, HSE standards, Oman government and other legal justifications and best international practices aligned with national objectives. 

Mandate QHSSE Obligations

  • Ensure compliance with the HSE Management System.
  • Monitor and report safety performance and compliance.
  • Guide, advise, communicate, and enforce safe behavioural practices (Life Saving Rules, Process Safety Rules) to perform tasks safely.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure continuity of operations by taking necessary actions and capturing major highlights and constraints in detail.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and diagnose abnormal situations and performance using the Distributed Control System (DCS), and take corrective action or activate fire shifts as needed.
  • Maintain frequent communication with operations to address abnormal occurrences and minimize potential impacts.
  • Create and track SAP notifications for malfunctioning equipment, and report and monitor completion.
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform tests in all facilities, ensuring equipment operates within specified parameters.
  • Operate and control processes within limits to meet production plans and product specifications and perform grade changes to avoid off-specification material.
  • Diagnose and correct abnormal situations from the control panel, and report serious deviations to the Shift Team Leader and Manager PP OP.
  • Implement Emergency Response Procedures according to SOP in emergency scenarios and use creativity to address gaps not covered by policy, recording such instances for policy updates.
  • Assist in creating procedures and guidance based on expert knowledge of emergency management.
  • Maintain log sheets and logbooks to report daily shift highlights and provide input into weekly or monthly reports as required by the Area Department.

Working Conditions

Field operations and office environment, moderate to intensive computer screen use.

Education requirements

Diploma Degree or equivalent.

Language

Preferable English and Arabic

Experience and background

  • From 3 to 5 years of experience in operations and maintenance preferably in the oil and gas sectors.
