Provides thoughts, guidance, advise while leading the execution of the mathematical?Commercial model?(linear relationships) for Linear Programming (LP) at RPI, under Manager Planning & Scheduling CoE, acting as Senior Subject Matter Expert Model Owner, LP, to achieve best outcome (such as maximum profit or lowest cost) for RPI Assets, through (1) Lead the development, maintainance, and upgrading the model including its overall structure, submodels, process limits, constraints, and reporting, (2) Ensures model validity in support of Refinery Planning team and makes adjustments requested by Planners, (3) Applies process knowledge and modelling expertise to Backcast the refinery and petrochemical complex and make adjustments to the model as needed, and (4) Guide young staff Model Owner LP in related matters; in order to support the commercial stream to obtain optimal solutions for refinery and petrochemical complex operations within its limitations and constraints. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |
Main tasks and responsibilities Lead the consolidation of all information used for LP model preparation (building, developing, maintaining, and upgrading the model ensuring the collected data is accurate.
Ensure the LP Model can properly represent operating scenarios to support the Asset Managers at RPI to understand the impact of different variables on the overall operation. This includes changes in crude prices, market demand, or unit reliability.
Ensures Strategic Decision Support by making strategic decisions related to the modelling tools and resources needed for production planning, inventory management, and resource allocation. Model owners build the LP model to align refinery operations with business objectives and recommend software upgrades in line with current industry practice.
Support Refinery LP Model Users as needed for LP runs for monthly plans, budgets, project analysis, and retro simulation (Backcast) runs to determine optimal conditions of the refinery.

| Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Commercial, Finance, Economy, or related field. |

Background and experience | |
Strong experience with AspenTech PIMS – experience with Haverly HCAMS, KBC Petro-SIM, FCC, REF, and DC-SIM knowledge
