Job Description
• Compliance to company QHSE and Process Safety standards and procedures. • Proactively monitor plant performance using Exception Based Surveillance (EBS) in Daleel Smart Portal, PI Process Book, PI Vision, DCS trends and other tools to identify opportunities to optimize production and / or reduce deferment. • Actively participate to understand system constraints and support the identification and implementation of opportunities to debottleneck systems. • Provide Process Engineering support to operations team, as required, during troubleshooting, start up, shutdown, root cause analyses, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, operating procedure development, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), MOC (Management of Change) etc. • Perform in depth analysis of process related trips that cause high deferment and / or have high occurrence. • Analyze and identify areas of improvement to reduce costs, enhance operational efficiency, and increase profitability. • Maintain Unisim / Pipesim models of the process system and use for troubleshooting / debottlenecking. • Manage development and maintenance of Live Operating Envelopes for the assets and verify data. • Initiate and provide process engineering support to Facility Change Proposals. • In depth knowledge of relevant international standards applicable to oil industry such as ASME, API, ISO, NACE, etc. • Work with production chemist to optimize chemicals applications to meet required specification. • Regular visits to the field as required to support process optimization activities. • Provide process engineering support and input to projects and participate in HAZOPs, Design Reviews, IPFs etc. • Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, implementing and sustaining tools and processes to support with process system optimization, production system optimization, energy efficiency, flare reduction and deferment reduction. • Handle relevant internal and external audits and production related requests. • Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff and university trainees.
Skills Required
Minimum Academic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in chemical or Process Engineering. Minimum Work experience: • At least 12 years’ experience in Process Engineering in Oil and Gas industry. • Minimum of 4 (out of the 12) years in Oil and Gas Upstream Operations / Process Optimization. • Experience in oil/gas/water processing facilities and process utilities. • Process Safety Management knowledge in Oil and Gas Operations. • Experience in troubleshooting and debottlenecking process facilities. • Knowledge and skills in industry wide process simulation software such as Pipesim, Unisim/Hysys etc. • Ability to interface and network both with the process engineering discipline and with other disciplines across a wide range of organisational boundaries (i.e. Operation, Production Programming, Sub-surface, Production Chemistry, etc.). • Knowledge in energy management / efficiency. • Experience in equipment sizing an advantage (e.g. relief valves, control valves, line sizing and hydraulics). • Experience in Green House Gas emissions assessment and calculation is an advantage. • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and capable of taking initiative. • Skilled in coaching and mentoring
