Job purpose Plans, executes and monitors all activities related to inbound logistics for LPIC, inventory management and vendor management unis under Manager Inbound Logistics scope; by facilitating the effective execution of production plans; in order to ensure quality parameters are met with maximum cost optimization. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. |
Main tasks and responsibilities Inbound Logistics Coordination - Monitors and supervises daily logistics activities carried out by staff and contractors and ensures compliance to standard operation procedures (SOP).
- Analyses day-to-day scheduling and production issues and takes corrective actions in conjunction with LPIC Units to ensure delivery targets are met.
- Monitors cargo movement through tracking system to facilitate production planning and scheduling.
- Inspects all incoming packaging and raw materials to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
- Ensures proper handling and storage of materials, semi – finished and finished products by the staff and contractors involved in the logistics process.
- Monitors the type of packaging material and ensures compliance to marketing requirements.
- Supports planning in grading production readiness for delivery in a timely manner.
- Assists in maintaining daily production schedules and customer service levels.
Inventory Management - Monitors and controls the inventory of packaging materials and finished products.
- Maintains inventory levels by ensuring availability of packaging material required to meet production demands.
Vendor Management - Maintains close coordination with third party suppliers, licensors, logistic handlers and affiliated companies and follows up on deliverables.
- Ensures contractors handling PP logistics are aware of the documentation procedures and comply with the ISO Standards, SOPs and other quality assurance systems.
- Monitor the performance of the contractors to ensure products are delivered with care.
- Apply penalties to the contractor if scrap product allowance exceeds.
Cost Control and Optimization - Assess the logistics practices, materials used and contractor performance and propose cost optimization / efficiency enhancement solutions.
- Minimize wastage / scrap in order to maintain competitive pricing.
- Liaises between Bagging Operations, Logistics Contractors, Maintenance and Operations team and redirects polymer scrap material to facilitate operational optimization.

Key interactions Internal: Liaise with the colleagues and stakeholders for day to day work; i.e. Operators, Shift supervisor, Maintenance Coordinator, Process Trainer, Technical Services Department, production Engineers. External: Consultants, vendors, contractors and external providers. |

Education requirements | Minimum Qualifications for this position is a degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. |
Language requirements | Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) |

- 5+ years of relevant experience as a Logistics Coordinator / Officer within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry, preferably with experience in the area/assets associated with this position.
- Petrochemical Operation Planning and Scheduling – including use of computer-based tools.
- Knowledge of the petrochemical process and plant equipment.
- Knowledge of Logistics best practices.
- Knowledge of inbound logistics documentation.
- Knowledge of the PE process and plant equipment.
- Knowledge of reading and interpreting P&ID & PFD
- Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field.
- Proven experience with Personal Safety Management.
- Good knowledge in HSE / SCE equipment & plans.
- HSE (Permit to Work – PTW, Confined Space, Process Safety, Basic Fire Fighting, HAZOP., Good knowledge Managing Risks and Hazards, Emergency Response
- Knowledge in estimating, budgeting and cost control.
- PE unit pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up.
