Job Description

The role is field based on B2B week rotation basis.
  • Job Purpose:

  • To manage, control, and maintain materials inventory at the operational site, with a particular focus on OCTGs and other critical oilfield equipment. The Material Expeditor ensures efficient material handling, accurate stock records, and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Responsibilities, Accountabilities, job Activities:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, ensuring conformity to delivery documents and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update inventory records for all materials, especially OCTGs (casing, tubing, drill pipes), in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the procurement team to replenish materials as needed.
  • Label and store materials systematically to allow for easy retrieval and minimize risk of damage or loss.
  • Prepare and issue materials based on approved requisitions, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
  • Coordinate with drilling, production, and maintenance teams to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and physical counts to ensure accuracy of records.
  • Prepare stock status reports, inventory discrepancy reports, and material usage summaries as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of hazardous or sensitive materials.
  • Supervise and coordinate with warehouse labour and contractors to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Manage loading and offloading of materials and liaise with transport/logistics providers.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all material movements, returns, and disposals.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Good understanding of OCTG specifications and handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP software).
  • Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) requirements related to material storage and handling.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment and safety practice.
