Job Description |
The Well Completion & Intervention Engineer is a key role accountable for engineering workscopes covering the planning and execution of well decommissioning activity within the Intervention and Integrity Engineering team.
The successful candidate would work with the Well Completion, Interventions and Integrity Engineering Manager, and would be part of the Team which delivers the Completion, Interventions and well integrity operations.
The position would necessitate working with a multi-disciplinary Team, in order to create, plan, programme and execute the most efficient post completion interventions possible.
The C&IE will ensure full integration between sub-surface, PSCM and wells teams and strive for continual performance improvement through the application of bp protocols, knowledge management and technology.

Key Accountabilities |
- Demonstrate HSE Leadership at all times and to all members of the Interventions and Stimulation Team.
- Participate in safe execution and delivery of the well intervention and well integrity operations in line with legislation, HSSE expectation and BP Policy and procedures.
- Plan and prepare intervention programmes, procedures, time and cost estimates.
- Contract new technologies in order to improve well productivity and efficiency of the operations.
- Deliver intervention projects with high safety and environmental standards, to planned time and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with BP's Engineering Technical Practices and prepare risk assessments for deviations.
- Coordinate with in-house technical support and support new technology development and deployment.
- Lead and mentor team members with a proactive approach to HSSE.
- Communicate effectively at all levels and coach other engineers.
- Innovate and be open to new ideas.
- Demonstrate knowledge of conventional intervention equipment (Coiled Tubing, Electric-Line, Slick-Line).
- Prepare detailed programmes and reports for interventions and stimulation.
- Deliver all aspects of detailed Intervention Engineering.
- Understand Process Safety (HAZOP, HAZIP, etc.).
- Experience in fishing activities (wireline and Coiled Tubing).
- Practical experience of abandonment operations.
- Knowledge in applicable practices: Well Control, Zonal isolation, Well Barriers, Well Operations, Pressure Testing.

Experience and Qualifications |
- University degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
- Well Control Certification (IADC, IWCF or equivalent).
- 6–10 years of oil & gas experience in Completion, Well Intervention, Well stimulation, Well testing, Well Integrity, engineering and field operations.
- Track record of proactive occupational safety and process safety leadership.
- Experience managing contracts and sourcing materials and services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
- Skilled in Well Delivery and Well Activity Workflow process.
