About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

To provide security support to asset teams at the interior locations. Report security incidents to ROP and North/South security Lead (UIC/3F/3M); take appropriate action against reported security incidents and assist in investigation when required. Collect, Analyse information pertaining to security threats and propose appropriate mitigation measures to assets.

Education & Experience

• High National Diploma or equivalent qualification level.
• Minimum 3 to 6 years working experience in a security environment.
• A good all-round knowledge of National Laws and Royal Oman Police Rules and Regulations.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak Arabic and English.
• Able to prepare summary reports, present spreadsheets and viewgraphs.
• Prior work in oil and gas is an added advantage.

Main Responsibilities

• Accountable for the security performance in the interior locations under responsibility.
• The official interface between PDO and any local security agency in the interior.
• Report security incidents to nearest ROP station.
• Provide assistance to ROP investigation team at various investigation stages of thefts or any security related incident.
• Liaise and collaborate with local security agencies, especially Oil & Gas Installations Security Police.
• Carry out security surveys, risk assessments, inspections and audits as appropriate at various interior locations.
• Identify, analyse and assess security threats and propose the appropriate mitigation actions or options.
• Provide security advice for interior asset teams. 
• Responsible for preparing and issuing security passes for PDO and Contractor staff at interior locations.
• Extend security support to staff and contractors at respective interior locations in the event of security incidents and to highlight and facilitate any improvements.  
• Participate actively in HSE and Toolbox meetings to promote security awareness and improve compliance.
• Coordinate with ROP on VIP security during visits to interior locations, on gate pass procedures or reported security breaches.
• Supervise and/or follow up security system projects/services.
• Prepare and send weekly performance report to North/South security supervisor.
• Liaise with information security officer on logical/physical security breaches of Security/ER systems in the interior.
• Be a member of the Emergency Response Team at the interior LECC Local Emergency Control Centre.
