The Drilling Rig Move Specialist should provide a professional safety guidance and leadership to all rig move and critical lift operations, this includes developing a rig move plan to be discussed with DSM, RM and RM contractors before move takes place.
Work closely with the construction department and follow up on the location construction in order to optimize rig locations and identify cost savings opportunities by reducing location sizes, pit volumes, etc.
Facilitating the pre-rig move safety meeting, ensuring these meetings are properly conducted, documented and signed off by all crews involved. Ensuring the proper authorities are notified.
Take control of all rig move operations ensuring that all Oxy/contractors Safety policies and procedures are followed.
Liaise with Operations during the pre-move meetings to ensure that all live wells, flow lines and power lines are at a safe distance, conduct risk assessment if required.
Ensure that rig move route is safe and acceptable to allow safe passage between public vehicles and drilling equipment.
Monitors all ongoing operations for compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
Facilitates pre-rig move meetings ensuring there is proper equipment in place with properly trained operators.
Ensure that all lifting equipment is certified and all crane operators and banksmen have a clear understanding of their jobs.
To work with DSM to ensure both locations have proper supervision.
Assist Oxy field HES team in issues that require involvement of regulatory agencies, heavy equipment movements, critical lifts, any in field transportation safety concerns.
Conduct safety compliance audits & inspections of contractor’s vehicles and equipment.
Assists with training of field Safety Associates with oil field transportation safety requirements.
Coordinates and/or leads incident investigation teams if requested.
Ensures contractor quality and compliance through use of audits and inspections of contractor/supplier HES programs and implementation.
Supervise water management system in Safah and Wadi Latham field and coordinate logistics companies in order to deliver water to the new locations for drilling and construction.
Monitor management of Safety in rig move operations & provides feedback to Drilling HES Team Leader.
Participate or facilitate drilling contractor or Oxy safety meetings.
Ensure close out of all minor / major incidents investigation’s & ensure control measure are implemented.
Supports Drilling group with rig and equipment inspections, risk identification/mitigation, and program input.
Attend monthly safety meetings as required with Oxy HES.
Provide assistance or relief for Safety Coordinators as required.
Maintain a safe efficient rig move.
Provide assistance/supervision in drilling water source wells
